"Where we stayed at the Oasis Camp was lovely. Clearly it was a newer addition to the Barcelo Resort and it was beautifully appointed and quiet. At night they would light a fire in the center of all the "tents" which made for a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, the rest of the Barcelo resort has gone somewhat to seed. It was clearly in it's heyday 20 years ago or so and not much has been done to improve on it since. There were multiple amenities (volleyball, tennis, lake) that weren't well...

"The room was not ready when we arrived, so we were moved to another unit with no internet or hot water, and we were told not to unpack as we were going to be sent back to our original house the next day. The room we had booked had no hair dryer, iron, ect and we had to ask for everything from the owner. Old and broken furniture. There was also a language barrier with the owner. But it was a safe and nice environent and the pools were also really nice and clean. "

Point négatif: comme cest un appart hôtel il faut contacter global ali à l'arrivée pour la remise des clés et non se diriger à la réception qui sont concurrent, pas de supérette à proximité bien qu'il soit indiqué une dans la résidence. "Best stay we have had so far on all our visits to Marrakesh over the years. The complex is surrounded by the most beautiful well kept lush gardens which added to the whole relaxed feel of the hotel. Of course it’s remote, but most are, however I feel that’s better so you can dip in and out of the busy sights and Medinas if you want and free shuttle anyway or cheap taxis all day. I had decided not to return to Morocco a couple of years ago but Barcelo has completely changed our minds and will 100% return. Staff amazing, and not in your face in restaurants or mither, like some other hotels. Room adequate size and spotless. Choice of quiet pool and slightly busier one with more than enough beds all day. Thank you and see you next year."

"A lovely stay and everything we needed. Bit of an unpleasant first impression with security guard deciding whether he would let us in - travelling with my 16 year old and had confirmation that he was welcome but that information apparently never reached the gate. Main Property is beautiful but there is large parts of the hotel grounds which seems to be a building site/abandoned. I see now why they offer to drive you to gym/spa/indoor pool area! It was clearly a huge resort in previous times. Our hotel room was beautiful and two large single beds and a pool view was perfect! We both slept v well. Pools were lovely but the entertainment and the music can be loud at the main pool, we preferred the quieter pool. Hadn’t appreciated how much entertainment there was and it’s not something that bothers us but everyone seem to enjoy it! Food in buffet was excellent and always something delicious to eat - we didn’t bother to eat at à la carte restaurants which are a bus ride away but didn’t hear anything too positive about them anyway. Staff were fantastic, always friendly and helpful!"

"Just home following my second trip to this hotel, the first virus with my husband an the second as a girls trip. The hotel is in a stunning setting within lovely lush gardens. We particularly liked the zen pool where we could read and chill. One of the main reasons we returned (I’ve never returned to a hotel ever) was the quality of the food which is first class, every meal has a wide selection and to a really high standard. The block our room was in this time was a little more tired than our first visit and there were a few niggles, mostly minor points - gym doesn’t open top 9am in the middle of breakfast service so no workout before breakfast, no signage at zen pool meant it there was a lot more noise with adults all drinking in the pool (without lifeguard intervention) and there were structural improvements taking place which is great to see but difficult to relax in with drills going constantly… and no signage / prior warning before booking that this was taking place. I would return again for a stay but would check out the above points first. It really is a fabulous hotel."
