3 nights exploring Casco Viejo

We enjoyed staying here! It was larger than we expected with a good size laundry room (the laundry machine is a washer dryer). We had success parking our small car under ground in the parkade. Small cars only as the parkade has a small car elevator.The accommodation has an 24/7 concierge and we found him to be incredibly helpful. The kids loved the rooftop pool.The location is about 2 blocks outside the expanding restored areas of Casco Viejo. And we walked around comfortably during the day and night. Largely because there were so many armed police officers in the area, which was alarming at first but did provide some comfort after a day or so. Their presence could have been heightened because it was during Carnival weekend, but showed symptoms of ongoing gentrification crisis. Which is all part of the experience indeed

Pool was enjoyable but was closed the last 3 days of our trip due to maintenance. The building its self was great, clean. The area where it’s located is not very safe. It’s a block into the worst area in Panama. If it was further in to Casco Viejo another 2 blocks it would have been much better. Getting in touch with management was difficult if you don’t have WhatsApp, and they ask for full payment the night before you arrive. I would rather pay in full when you are confirmed for your stay, rather than the last minute. The condo was very nice and clean and had everything you’d need.
