  • The Gem Theatre (previously known as Kinema Theatre, Hub Theatre) was built in 1909. In 1924, one of the reels of film got stuck in the projector and caught fire, igniting a full reel in the lower magazine. Only the outer shell of the theater survived the fire. The Kinema was rebuilt "as near fireproof as possible" and reopened in 1924. The Kinema Theatre was renamed the Hub Theatre in 1928. In 1933, the theatre was renovated and renamed it the Gem Theatre. After the advent of television, the theater could not attract large enough crowds to pay film rental fees. The Gem Theatre closed about 1986. The title of the last movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, remained on the marquee for ten years as the theater sat idle. Sometime after this the theater was again damaged by fire. Mark Childs, owner of Childs Construction, and his wife Heather, a retired dancer, purchased the Gem Theatre in April 2010, after moving to Panguitch from Henderson, Nevada.  After replacing the building's fire-damaged roof, the Childs rebuilt the Gem Theatre's interior and reopened it on 28 May 2011. #OnTheRoad

When we arrived at the hotel at 7 p.m., the room had not been cleaned. The positive point is that the hotel offered a full refund. There was trash on the table and dirty towels on the floor. So we have to book another hotel.

List of some of the issues we had NO hot water Bugs inside the room No hand soap My heater did not work Outside (parking lot) light not working very dangerous Shower head leaking Toilet leaking No grab bars No tub mat ( tub very slippery) When I address the issues this is the only thing they said Hi , Thank you for letting us know. I'm glad you were able to remove the spider. Regarding the water leaking from the toilet, there isn't maintenance available at the moment. If you'd like, there is a plunger in the guest closet that you can use to clear it. Unfortunately, the parking lot lights near the benches are not functioning at the moment

Parfait pour une étape !

Très correct dans l’ensemble pour une nuit d’étape. Arrivée totalement autonome (vous recevez un code via sms pour l’ouverture de la porte). Il faudra anticiper pour se restaurer car il n’y a pas beaucoup de choix aux alentours. À moins de 40 min de Red et Bryce Canyon.

The room I got was one of the few located in the back of the building. I asked if I could change to a room in the parking lot but they said because I had booked online I couldn’t (even though there were many unbooked rooms) I had to park at the street to be even close to the room. I had to make multiple trips around the building to bring my stuff in and I didn’t like not being able to keep an eye on my vehicle during the night.
