"Spectacular Property with a Breathtaking Location, Marred by One Incident
Our recent stay at the Hotel das Cataratas (Belmond) was nothing short of magical. The property boasts an absolute world-class location right at the edge of the magnificent Iguazu Falls, allowing us to experience the raw power of nature in complete serenity. The estate itself is extremely beautiful, and the general hospitality standard was phenomenal—the majority of the staff went completely out of their way to be amazingly helpful, warm, and attentive.
The culinary offerings were exceptional throughout our stay. Breakfast and dinner were great, featuring fresh, locally inspired flavors, and the bar was an absolute standout with a fantastic atmosphere and awesome cocktails. A truly heavenly touch was the continuous presentation of premium, exquisite chocolates in the main lobby, which added a wonderful layer of luxury to our daily returns from the park trails.
While our experience was overwhelmingly positive, we must bring a highly disappointing service failure to management's attention. At breakfast, we were encountered by a staff member named Mario, who appeared to be part of the leadership team given his distinct white suit. was extremely impolite, rigid, and discourteous to us. His abrasive demeanor was completely unbefitting of the standard of a 5-star Belmond property and stood in stark contrast to the brilliant warmth of the rest of the team."
