We were just passing through the area and needed a place to sleep. We arrived in time to take a walk around the farm, saw wildlife, was very peaceful. The house had everything we needed, we enjoyed the stay.

Nice weekend with family

Spent time with family and enjoyed a lot of time outside in the yard. Everything was comfortable and clean and as had expected, as weve stayed here several times. Love it here. Sunsets are so beautiful and youll love the trail and river!

The property is exactly as described and worked perfect for us. We wanted to be as close to Pardeeville, WI as possible and this fit the bill. We all want to visit during the summer so can enjoy the outdoors at this property. Check in was easy, beds comfy, and plenty of linens etc.

Fireside by the river.

Location was just what we were looking for. In the country but close to some great small towns. Madison is about 40 minutes and Milwaukee about 90 if you need a big city fix. Small but efficient.

Peaceful country home

Wonderful property and everything was as described in the listing. Nice house with games to play and beautiful farm setting. Perfect getaway for a weekend with friends!

We were looking for places to stay up near Cascade and Devils head for the weekend and stumbled across this gem. This place was amazing! About a 30 minute drive to Cascade and 50 minute drive to Devils head, making both perfectly manageable. Easy close access to grocery stores as well. The property itself had everything you could ask for in a getaway, cute stream running through, fireplace, charcoal grill, trails and more! Inside the house there was plenty of beds to sleep in, great VHS movie collection, nice stereo for music, and everything we needed in the kitchen. If you are looking for a nice weekend away from it all, or just a place to stay while you're skiing for the weekend, this is the perfect choice!

We filled out your paperwork, but just to reiterate, we enjoyed the sweet atmosphere. Felt like we were visiting Grandma and Grandpas home. We played pool, and slept great. It was private and quiet, such a great place to make family memories! Thank you again!

Just like I Remember

I grew up in an old farmhouse and this reminded me so much of that time. Wood floors with rugs and vhs tapes! The trails were fun to walk along and see the Fox river and have kids run out some energy. Then settle in for a night of games in the basement. Quite a unique stay and glad we found it for a relaxing new year stay while skiing at Cascade.

Wisconsin Retreat

My husband, daughter, and I rented this VRBO for an overnight stay in Pardeeville, Wi. The Fox River Retreat is nestled away in a small quiet area. We enjoyed the solitude as well as the beauty of the small river flowing on the property. As we enjoyed our morning coffees the air was filled with the sounds of horse and buggy’s as several the local Amish family’s drove by. We saw a few wild animals ie fox, squirrels, and turkeys.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 4 friends for a gals wknd. Area was nice, lots to do. Enjoyed the home. Needs some thorough cleaning. Water pressure is not the greatest and very low shower head. However the grounds and shopping in the area made up for it! Advertised as sleeps 9, but only 3 beds and 2 pullouts. Depending on what you are looking for. Definitely great for games and outdoor activities! Plan to return in the future...

Farm house

We loved every bit of our stay!! Most definitely will be returning. Greeted right away with the Amish. Got to enjoy the great outdoors of the property by getting in the river, taking a stroll on the lawn path, and having a small fire at night. There was plenty of space for the whole family to run around outside and to fit inside! The house was equipped with everything and more! Sure, there is a smell to the house but it give character. We just had too much fun being outside.

Country Farm Home

Overall the stay was great. I do feel they missed out not mentioning the amenities in the basement. We were pleasantly surprised to find a pool table, dart board, basketball and air hockey in the basement. Could not find the firepit (did find a burn barrel). The heat was kind of an issue. It was below 54 degrees when we got there inside. We turned on the thermostat to around 70. When we got home it was around 64 and it stayed there all weekend. Would have like to know it was well water, but I should have figured that out by location. All in all, we enjoyed the stay and would use it again, but would give better warning to the group I am traveling with.
