Good neighborhood, not a good apartment
After a long day traveling from England, we were looking forward to getting to our rental, take a nice shower and have a good night sleep. We arrived late around 9.30pm in the middle of a thunderstorm and were completely drenched. The after hour check-in process was very easy with detailed instructions and pictures to help us. The apartment is very close to the metro and has a lot of restaurants nearby. After retrieving the key we entered and were greeted with a foul smell of sewage. We looked around and found the smell coming from the shower. The drain was clogged with black stuff all over the shower. The stench was overwhelming. We immediately called the number given for assistance and were told that, due to the time, it would be impossible to get fixed that night but they would make things right.That stuff had obviously been there for a while and would have been impossible to miss during cleaning prior to our arrival. We sprayed perfume and closed the bathroom door. We washed up and brushed our teeth in the kitchen sink (we traveled with an 11 year old child). The bedroom had no windows and no ventilation and only a very small fan was provided. Between the smell and the heat, it was nearly impossible to get any rest. None of us was able to get any sleep. It was very uncomfortable. We never heard again from the agent or owner. Nobody came to fix the shower or followed up with us. Very disappointing for 250 USD. Would not recommend.
