「We absolutely loved our stay at The Sanctuary. We had everything we needed for a peaceful and relaxing vacation . I especially loved the decor. Just enough decorations to not be visually overstimulating or cluttered in the cottage. The furniture and beds were very comfortable! We practically lived on the porch and on the beach. Thank you! 「The host was absolutely amazing. We had a little hiccup in the beginning but was fixed immediately. The response was immediate to rectify the issue. It was a completely unforeseen problem a massive storm the day before arrival knocked out the power and the heat pump wouldn't start. 「Excellent lakeside view. True peace and quiet. Courteous and friendly owners who respond to messaging extremely fast. 30 minutes from the Canadian border in Lubec with some stunning vistas. We travelled here from NJ for Halloween weekend in late October 2025, and the trees were turning and changing colors all along the drive up, and all throughout Maine. Cozy cabin vibes and an easy to use fireplace with plenty of firewood. Highly recommended.」

「I was pleased with the property and hosts. The property is quiet and comfortable. The porch overlooking the river is fantastic. The problem came during and after check out. Our host said I was only registered for 1 adult 2 kids. I had reservations for 5 adults (2weee teens). Later she emailed me saying that because I was only registered for 2 she was charging my card an extra fee. Sure enough when I checked my card was charged again. I didn’t mind paying for the extra.
