“We stayed at The Goatshed during the off season. Lots of rain ( even a "named" storm ) during our stay, and still it was absolutely magical. Everything we hoped it would be ! The villages in the area had lovely tavernas and incredible bakeries as well as grocery stores well stocked with everything you need. I spent a morning sipping coffee and listening to a Greek Orthodox memorial service being chanted nearby, another morning we watched the neighbors harvesting olive trees. The Goatshed itself……

“It certainly is a beautiful, vintage property set in peaceful, authentic greek countryside. We love this type of rural home and loved every minute of being there. But at the same time it is close to important local facilities - like Napflion, the regional capital - and wonderful beaches all along the long coasts. Calm, warm waters particularly at Tolo and Kondyli beaches. John - our Host - couldn't have been more helpful especially when we were worried about finding the property and getting……

“Plus: Wonderful terraces overlooking Kalamata. Negative: This is a stone house and can be quite cold. We successfully heated the living room area, but could not heat the lower bedroom. Also the house is a long way up a winding road and somewhat out of town.”

“This property is really special. It is spacious and beautiful and just has a certain quality about it. That makes you feel like a queen. The owner‘s mom lives down the hill and, although she doesn’t speak a lot of English, she was thorough in welcoming us and Showing us how to use the kitchen, etc. She had a crisper drawer full of fresh oranges and lemons and an electric orange juice maker. I did some laundry and hang it out on the line in the evening, and it smelled wonderfully fresh the next……
