Stay comfortably on the Blue Hill Peninsula at this bright, three-bedroom house. Situated on a private road with waterfront along Penobscot Bay, this property offers a quiet place to relax while also being close to the attractions of the mid- and Downeast coast.
The property includes a main house as well as a guest house attached by a covered breezeway. Both houses are connected to a long deck with spectacular water views and a screened porch.
The main house features an open kitchen, dining area, and living room with propane-fired enamel heat stove. It sleeps four in two bedrooms: one bedroom with a king bed and a second bedroom with a queen bed. The queen bedroom includes an en suite half bathroom and both bedrooms can access the full bathroom with shower, clawfoot tub, double sink, and bidet.
The guest house is a few steps away from the main house; it is connected by a covered breezeway and features one bedroom and one sleeping nook. The bedroom has a queen bed and spectacular view of the water and gardens. The sleeping nook accommodates two twin floor beds, is open to the hallway, and has a low ceiling height that gives it a playhouse-like that’s feel perfect for children.
The first floor of the guest house has two rooms. One is a game/exercise space with full-sized ping pong table, treadmill, and other exercise equipment; it has two sliding-glass, one opening to the front yard and one to the backyard. The second first-floor room has a television, small refrigerator, lovely views of the water, sliding-glass door to the backyard, a table for games and puzzles, and sofa that converts to a double bed.
The beach, yard, deck, and screened porch offer a variety of places to be outdoors. The open area in the main house provides cozy space to gather inside while the guest house is great for movie-watching, game-playing, and exercise.
This versatile house sleeps six in three conventional bedrooms, and an additional four in a double sofa bed and two movable twin floor beds; the floor beds may be set up in the bedroom nook or moved to another space, such as parents’ bedroom, according to guests’ needs. The house is perfect for three couples, families with children, two families traveling together, and a number of other guest configurations.
