Let me get the negatives out of the way first:
I was super skeptical of having to use Aardvark Labs, as my booking forced me to use a 3rd party website. I even went through Vrbo support w/a live agent to confirm it was legit. It asks you to take pictures, scan your ID, etc so I was very on-edge of this being a scam.
But the Vrbo agent assured me this was legitimate, and that the renter went through their process, so I gave it a shot.
Another irritation is that even after going through Aardvark Labs for payment and sharing my personal documents - I wasn't given the address for this property until the day of, which makes it really hard to plan. (Actually, the address on Expedia is correct. They just don't confirm it until the day of your check-in.)
So my critique (and the one other review here) are fair on the check-in process. This is the one area where I was close to just cancelling due to the how it played out.
That being said - My actual experience:
If you can get past that, everything was as the listing stated.
The property is very central in Phoenix. You have a dedicated parking space. And the fact that there's no physical keys (just passwords for the property and the room) is actually pretty convenient.
The actual place is very space-efficient, and offers all the amenities you would want in a home:
- Full kitchen
- Dishwasher
- Laundry
- Coffee in the form of Nespresso
And the condo complex has a shared pool (deepest point 5ft).
So it is as advertised!
