Great cabin for a group
We went as a group of 5 adult couples and this worked out perfect! Communication and check in was very clear and easy. The screened in porch and bonfire pits were really nice. The cabin had a beautiful view, and we really appreciated the pontoon being included! It’s a nice lake. A little weedy by the dock, so some of us who are babies wore our water shoes, but it really wasn’t too bad. Plenty of bedrooms/beds and bathrooms. Just a heads up, this isn’t really close to many restaurants or shops, but we had planned to spend all of our time at the cabin anyway and did enjoy some bloody Mary’s and appetizers at the Harriet Club. Overall great stay!

Family Fun
This was a family gathering of three generations. The accommodations were plentiful, and a couple thoroughly enjoyed glamping. The grandchildren enjoyed the arcade, car racing, and laser tag. We all loved the pontoon for fishing and tubing. There was plenty to do or just relax in the gazebo. It was a quiet lake and out in the woods.

Beautiful and Serene
The listing doesn't do this property justice! The home and area is peaceful, relaxing and well kept. The property had everything we needed for our annual extended family weekend and more. Loved the provided amenities and the comfort of the accommodations! Can't wait to stay again.

Amazing!!!
We had an amazing time at Sanctuary on Hay Lake! Amazing house and amenities! And the fishing was amazing from the dock and the kayaks! Jay was super a super communicator. We had the best vacation!!

Perfect for Lake Life
Great property for our extended family group of 10. We had everything we needed. The lake is beautiful, nicely explored via pontoon, kayaks, standup paddle board, etc. The glamping tent was a fun extra option for sleeping.

This was a beautiful place to stay. It was very clean and the house was very accommodating. The lake was very peaceful. There was plenty to do for all ages! My kids already want to go back to this house next year!

Sanctuary Stay
We have stayed at Jay’s properties three times and he continues to impress. His communication is flawless and his commitment to the guest experience is second to none. We really enjoyed Sanctuary at Hay Lake and all the amenities. The home is spacious and set up for families. The pontoon and water activities kept everyone happy, but should you need inside activities The Sanctuary has lots of space, games, movies and a gorgeous view! We look forward to our Sanctuary stays in the future!

Family getaway
We enjoy the family time because busy lives and work make such occasions rare. The children enjoyed the swimming, especially the floating dock, the fishing and the pontoon boat.

Best Cabin We've Ever Had!
My family and I stayed from Sunday to Monday (8 days), and had a wonderful time! It includes a pontoon boat that is right there - no need to rent one! There are a bunch of kayaks and floatees to use as well. There was room for my daughter's and son-in-law's fishing boat to dock there too! We caught crappies, northerns, sunnies, and good-sized bass. We rented two Jet Skis and had a blast on Friday - all day long! The bedrooms are very comfortable and have TVs. There's a Ms. Pacman arcade game in the living room - I went nuts on that thing! That's my high score on Ms. Pacman 1 (59,620). The kitchen has EVERYTHING! I cannot say enough about this fantastic vacation home! Hope to come back again soon!

Great Stay At Hay Lake
Our family of 11 stayed at this property for a long weekend recently and the home met all of our needs. Facilities were all clean, the kitchen was very well-equipped; the bathrooms complete with plenty of towels, bath essentials, etc.; the family games were enjoyed by 'kids' of all ages (especially the Pac-Man) and even the beach had all of the floaties, kayaks and life preservers (in the pontoon) needed. The floating dock was an unexpected plus for swimming and to have full access to the pontoon was great! Hay Lake is extremely clean, peaceful and our children enjoyed catching fish both off the dock and from the boat. We did have some adults enjoy a nap (or two!) to try out the glamping option, but no takers overnight.

Great Family Gathering
We had a such wonderful time with so many activities on site. We enjoyed our time on the lake as well as plenty of inside activities to accommodate a group of all ages. They offered a glamping experience which was a big hit for our family. I would highly reccomend staying here!! We give it a 5 out of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful Cabin Getaway
I highly recommend this getaway! The location is beautiful and host was super nice and accommodating. It's even better than the photos. We have a large family and the cabin was super spacious and fully equipped with kitchen supplies, extra towels, pillows, and blankets. There is a washer and dryer in unit along with detergent. Cleaning and bathroom supplies were plentiful. The host even went as far as setting up a "glamping" tent outside that had running AC. There is a large pontoon included for boat rides and plenty of kayaks and gear for fun on the lake. Nighttime was so blissful underneath the stars and in the gazebo. This is now the top of our list to visit during the summer. If you have more people than is suggested, write to the host and he does his best to work with you. This place deserves 10 stars! We loved it!

Friends Summer Vacay
Very nice property with number of water toys and the use of a pontoon boat included which set this place apart from many others. Host/owner was very responsive both prior to and during our stay. Small maintenance issues were attended to within hours of contacting him; and maintenance man was great as well. Owner brought in a small extra frig for our use without us even asking for it. Very quiet and secluded area and lake.

Highly recommend!
We had multiple families stay for a birthday party. Everyone enjoyed their stay. There isn't anything we could think of that the owner hasn't already cared for. Plenty of bedrooms/beds, the outdoor space is nice with the screened in deck and glamper, and the lake is unbelievable. We used the pontoon for fishing and just riding around the lake to enjoy the scenery. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

Great find!
This place not only has great space for family groups (6 bedrooms!) but also had all the extras for fun in the water so we didn’t have to bring anything. Kayaks, pontoon, floaties - it had it all. A glamping tent was also a fun bonus! This allowed enough space for early-to-bed folks and the all-nighters. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great stay
We found this VRBO to be one of the best we have stayed at. Everyone of us (age 15 to 73) found a plenty to do with inside and outside activities. The waterfront was the center of activity for most of the time with the large variety of water toys and of course the pontoon for fishing, tubing, and just a nice slow cruise around the lake. Inside there was plenty to do with many games too. We found the sloping lot to be somewhat limiting for our elderly family but great exercise for the rest of us.

Great getaway
We enjoyed our family weekend at this home! Accommodations were just what we needed for the 4 different families and sleeping arrangements. It was great weather, the lake was beautiful, the pontoon was great, and we caught and released lots of fish! One thing we would have changed would be the lake front - there isn't much of one and we had two little kids who would have liked some sand and a small beach. All around we had and great, relaxing time! Thank you!

They thought of everything!!
My son and his family came from Montana. My daughter, her family and the two of us came from Wisconsin. We called this Camp MontaMinneWis. Truly, the owners have thought of everything! We loved the pontoon for fishing, tubing, and evening tours. The kids had a great time tubing! Campfire night was so much fun, too. One morning we went to the beautiful shops in Nisswa. Then, as if that isn’t enough, the owners have set up a Glamper…a tent in a sheltered deck complete with pretty lights, a comfy bed, AND air conditioning! My daughter and son in law slept out there and loved it. We highly recommend staying in this home.

Very nice location if your looking for a quiet peaceful vacation (Half the lake doesn’t have houses around it) Nice small lake with not much for boats flying around which we liked. Pontoon worked nice for group fishing. Location was as stated. Can’t ask for much more than that. Thanks

Thanks Tonja, the hilly yard does pose some challenges for large yard games, but I did manage to find a flat spot for a Badminton court, and I will be leveling another area near the deck for more yard space this fall. Glad you had a good time. Jay

Amazing Property
This place was great. Plenty of beds for a big group and 4 bathrooms was a treat. Big pontoon ran great and the even over the holiday weekend the lake was quiet and we had it to ourselves most of the time! We will definitely be back.

Family Gathering
Excellent stay. The property was very clean. The water was gorgeous. We had lots of fun swimming off of the boat. We did not swim much around the dock due to the lake grass growing. The kitchen could have used a few more serving platters and bowls for our larger group. Luckily we traveled with large aluminum pans so that helped. We enjoy using the kitchen and cooking large meals so having lots of pots, pans and appliances is always important for our gatherings. The house was very quiet so it was easy to sleep in late in the comfortable beds! Of course, you didn't want to do this often because you would miss the beautiful sunrises. Thank you!

Perfect for a long overdue reunion.
This is a wonderful property that comes with a pontoon boat. The boat makes the property, the outdoor space is compact but packs a punch! There where 13 of us, we had plenty of room on the boat and in the house.

Perfect setting for a stay at the lake.
I was impressed with the amenities included to keep all three generations of my family entertained for our weekend retreat. There were plenty of pan fish to catch from the dock and a pontoon and kayaks for exploring the lake. We played water games and lounged on floating toys near the shoreline.The numerous bedrooms gave plenty of privacy and the large dining area made for comfortable meal times together. Even a storm with a power outage did not dampen our spirits. A great time was had by all.

Serene lake
Had great stay with family. A relaxing, private lake and atmosphere. Pontoon rental with house was a plus and easy and with the calm lake maneuvering wasn’t a problem. Available flotation devices and badminton net was great fun! Notes for your stay: House is comfortable with many bedrooms and bathrooms. Shared common space is smaller. Kitchen with lots of dinnerware but few pots/pans. Cabin is in woods though firepit and screened tent helps. With no washer bring your beach towels. Careful on steps down to the water. A few cleaning concerns communicated with property manager.

Wonderful Family Time
This property at Hay Lake is a gem! Sanctuary at Hay Lake is a peaceful oasis with lots of amenities both inside and outside. The property is on a quiet lake and we enjoyed kayaks, badminton, the pontoon boat and floats. Comfortable beds and a beautiful interior were also highlights for our group. Lots of room to spread out and gather together. We really enjoyed our time at The Sanctuary at Hay Lake.
