"First the positive. Palmer Lake is a nice community and the hosts were nice and responsive to issues we had. Now the negatives: first, the “trailside cottage” title is misleading. Where is the “trail”? The house is on a city street surrounded in every direction by other houses. The move in instructions from VRBO contained incorrect WiFi name and incorrect password. The living room TV did not work and required a software update by the host, which should have been done before our arrival. The only comfortable furniture in the house was in the basement, which was virtually unusable because of a strong damp and musty odor. There was no remote control for the TV in the basement. The old wooden floors were very creaky and noisy. The lone bathroom was small with no counter space. Overall, it was a very poor value for the price charged. "

"Beautiful views, lots of space inside and outside. Large sundeck with plenty of seating. Some beds were a little softer than expected. The place had most everything you will need. Host was very quick to respond to our questions and very flexible with our requsts. Just a nice quiet getaway spot to relax."
