“The Balsam is located in a scenic spot in the southern Adirondacks where, due to the remoteness and the topography, there is no cell service but there is WiFi at the lodge. The night we stayed, we were the only guests which concerned me because, with Jenny being so engaging and friendly, I really want this venture to be a success for her. “We stayed in one of the small cabins. The cabin was just as described on the website and in the photos. The bed was comfortable. The porch on the front of Cabin was nice. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the lake. We ate both nights at the restaurant. The food was the best we have had in a long time, with very fresh ingredients and all the staff were friendly. They went above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The service was exceptional with several extra nice touches We will be back .”

“Room 1 needs to have the door handle/lock replaced. The key would spin around and around and you would have to catch it just right to unlock. The AC needs to be replaced also. The room was a good value for the price and within walking distance to everything in town.”
