Amazing can’t even begin to describe it!!!

This place was everything plus more. The caretakers and concierge went above and beyond. The property itself is spacious enough but still close enough to keep everyone together. This place is where family and friends can gather and make the best memories.

UnBELIZEable Time!!

From the moment we arrived at the South Gull property we were in awe. The home was not only beautiful but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate any needs our group had. The golf cart was perfect as we were able to go into town and visit different resorts, as well as find more Gecko Properties! We will definitely be coming back. BTW ask for Marvin, the cook, he is AMAZING!!

Amazing Belize Vacation

This is a beautiful villa equipped with everything you need for an amazing vacation! Our chef Romaldo greeted us with the most amazing meal. Every meal thereafter was 5 star with content and presentation. Romaldo was gracious and accommodating. The entire staff took care of keeping the property clean and appealing. I highly recommend this villa and staff!

Amazing week

Our group of seven friends recently returned from an amazing week at South Gull. The house is beautiful and we enjoyed floating in the pool overlooking the ocean. Carlos did an amazing job manicuring the beach making it easy to use and walk right in the ocean. Our chef meals were all great and we were spoiled by the ease of using our concierge to plan activities and provisions. Melanie kept the house spotless. We would love to stay again.

Wonderful Place

We had such an amazing visit to the South Gull house. Property is beautiful and feels very private. The pool was incredible and our kids were in it from sunrise to sunset. We had a great time using the paddleboards and snorkeling right from the house. The grocery store is about 25 minutes away so having the in house chef was such a helpful amenity. Carlos and melanie were so great at keeping the place clean during the week and we greatly appreciated Erica's help with booking our boat tour.

Best of The Best

We loved everything about this property. It was perfect for our group and we had people aged 1-75! Orlando was the BEST chef and took the time to learn what everyone liked and the food was amazing. Carlos and Melanie were AMAZING and were like family even on day 1. Always there for anything and willing to help on anything. Those 3 and this property made for a dream vacation. Also, super important to me- the AC was GREAT! :-) The Gecko communication was awesome and prompt. I was confident coming in as well as when we were there. We were there when the hurricane was headed right at us and I was at ease because of all the people at Gecko and their communication. Miss everyone that this beautiful property already!

Most epic vacation spot ever

South Gull Villa was above and beyond the most epic vacation spot we could have ever imagined! The house was even better than the pictures. It is spacious and had a perfect layout for four families. The location was private and safe. You are close enough to bars and restaurants but far enough from the crowds. The pool, the beach, the amenities are all perfect- even down to the flamingo floaty. Even better than the location and house are the incredible staff. Chef Damien blew our minds with his meals! We wish we would have had him come more than the 3 days. This is the best service we have ever experienced on a vacation! The cleaning staff and grounds crew were beyond helpful and did an amazing job. The house was spotless and our beach was raked every morning. Our concierge was helpful and responsive throughout our planning process. Even our van drivers were the best! I can’t say enough about this amazing location and experience. We will book this again!

Best Staff!

This was a great place to stay for our family reunion, family of 11, with plenty of room for everyone. The golf cart, pool, paddle boards, and kayaks were put to great use! However, the best part of the house is the staff. Orlando, the chef, was amazing. Not only was his food delicious, but his company was even better. He was professional and kind. In addition, Carlos and Melanie, who take care of the property inside and out, made us feel at home. Carlos raked the beach, cleaned the pool, and Melanie kept the house spotless. We are very grateful for their professionalism and hard work! They made the trip for us :). One thing to note: two of the three upstairs showers did take a bit to warm up, and I would (for a big family) recommend renting a car as you cannot fit everyone on the golf cart. The property is peaceful and relaxing! We had a great week! Thank you!

Beautiful property, immaculately cared for. The housekeeper, Melanie cleaned the place top to bottom daily. Carlos the grounds keeper removed sea grass and cleaned the pool daily. The chef, Orlando was awesome. Spacious and modern. There are restaurants about 10-15 min away by golf cart. For a future visit I would bring sand toys- there are none with the property. Also being way more cash than you think you need- there are a lot of things that are cash only.

The house was beautiful, the chef was amazing, Maria the housekeeper er did an incredible job. The grounds keeper was so helpful and kept the place immaculate! The concierge Erika was not helpful at all, did not respond in a timely manner to calls or emails once we arrived. Never made contact with us, sent a golf cart half full of gas, had to fill up twice, and upon our final departure sent a van that seated 9 for 13 people and luggage. We will stay in Placencia again but would not recommend Erika!

Overall great rental

We just got back from a week at the South Gull Villa. Highly recommend as the house felt very new and clean. Our chef Orlando and the housekeeper Lucy were the best we have ever had. Gecko is a top notch rental company and the overall price with chef included is a great deal. We found the pool enjoyable and loved the sandy beach. Would definitely recommend this house. Air conditioning worked very well. I would consider a rental car as it is a drive to downtown Placencia.

Perfect Late Fall Escape

My family of four along with 3 of our friends and my mother-in-law (3 kids in total) stayed at South Gull the last week of October. The property had plenty of space for all of us to spread out without feeling like we were in one another's space. We all loved going for a morning paddle on the provided kayaks and paddle boards followed by lots of beach and pool time. The bags set + bocce were great adds along with reading/relaxation time in the perfectly placed hammock. Getting in to town was a little bit of a journey (30+) minutes which was concerning at first, but travel on the golf cart was fun and made the trip fly by each time. All the staff (chef, housekeeper, groundskeeper) were extremely helpful and diligent and also good at carrying out their detailed work in a very noninvasive way and all were very friendly. All of the chef prepared meals were outstanding and chef was very flexible and accommodating in terms of desired meal times and even made some last minute adjustments due to a scheduling issue on our end. Celebrating Halloween in town was so much fun for all of us as were all of our excursions, but there is also no need to leave the property for days at a time if you didn't want to.

Outstanding retreat for family and friends

We had 3 families (11 total guests) in our group and had an incredible time here! The house was clean, beautiful and having our own pool and beach was wonderful! It is on the outskirts of the town so it is essential to have a golf cart or car to get around outside of tours. We rented an additional golf cart while there which worked out perfectly. We really appreciated having the house cleaned and daily laundry by Kelly, and were spoiled with amazing meals by Orlando. This listing come with a few days of chef service included as part of the price- this is a game changer especially if you have a large group!! The concierge service that is associated is also a huge bonus. We are looking at the calendar to return again!
