I always take negative reviews with a grain of salt; believe me, there is no grain of salt here.
We checked in around 11:15 pm, go to our room to find the door propped open - Red flag #1. Check the room quickly - doesn’t seem the best appointed room but - it’s a Super 8 and it’s just for 1 night, right? WRONG. We go get our stuff from the car and stop to grab a snack from the vending machine. The front desk person comes by and says the machine doesn’t work - but we had already gotten a granola bar out of it. We show him and he says sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t - Red flag #2. Then the keycard doesn’t work. I return to the front desk to get it fixed. I get back to the room and husband is standing outside as his keycard isn’t working either. Husband goes to front desk and guy comes up and proceeds to tell us that the keycards won’t work and we’ll have to come get him each time we need to get into our room! Red flag #3. We hesitantly try to get settled in the room. Husband pulls covers back on the bed and the sheets are stained horribly. Red flag #4. I freak out and husband asks if I want to leave. As there are literally no hotels with availability on the area (I checked), I say we need to stay. Husband goes to get new sheets and when we take dirty ones off, the mattress pad and mattress look like someone was murdered on them. Fridge filthy and heater smelled like burnt rubber too. We left and drove home 3 hours. Working on refund thru Expedia. Do not stay here!
