“The rooms were very comfortable (best sleep we had on our trip to Costa Rica) and we loved the pool, the beach, the sunsets, and the star gazing at night. We were there with our family. It is a bit remote so good idea to bring games and snacks if traveling with kids. The restaurant on the premise is expensive but serves creative dishes by a Michelin star chef using local ingredients.”

“I loved the short walk to the beach. The beach was beautiful and hardly anyone was on the beach. Also saw some monkeys in the trees out back of the property. The food was good, we only ate there twice. We had several drinks each night at the bar. Loved the location being so close to several sodas. Road to the lodge was rough but all the roads were pretty rough. “We had an excellent time at the Mikado. It was our first time to Costa Rica and it was probably one of our best holidays. Such a fun adventure. “Fantastic hotel, restaurant, and hospitality. We stayed in a suite... it was clean, quiet, comfortable, and had amazing water pressure in the shower. It was a perfect night sleep. “The property, which is in a natural preserve, needs better upkeep. The rooms are dated and our bathroom had lots of mold, which is totally unacceptable. Also, the rooms are spread all around the property through trails and you go up and down the mountain to reach them. This, in the suffocating heat and humidity, is exhausting.
