A great house for the family

The house is lovely, with everything you need, and the place is very cool, a little slice of La France Profonde. Get to know the lovely couple who serve you bread at the Boulanger - their son is the baker and he is really, really good - his cakes are to die for. On your way back from the Boulanger, call in at the Bar des Colonnes for your morning coffee - run by a rather bohemian lady, it's a delight. Go for Pizza at the weekend and meet the tame magpie - don't know who he rooms with, but he turns up every weekend and steals like only a magpie can. The surrounding country is unique and every valley beyond is a new experience and a new climate. Don't forget to swim in the Herault river and definitely do not miss riding on the Train à vapeur des Cevennes which chugs back and forth from Anduze to St Jean de Gard. We had a wonderful time - the weather was fantastic and the place even served up the most powerful lightning storm we've ever seen as a closer to our second week. Warmly recommended.

Lovely spacious and well equipped house with pool

We really enjoyed our stay at Ostal Philia as part of a family group. On arrival, we were very pleasantly surprised by the size of the house and the layout allowing for privacy as well as providing great communal spaces. Having a pool was a big advantage, with plenty of beach towels, as was the large kitchen and dining area outside for our family to enjoy. The decor inside the house was attractive and welcoming and Patrick and his wife had thoughtfully provided a changing table for our baby. Both kitchen areas were well equipped, everything was clean and well maintained. The information pack provided by Patrick gave us great insight into the local area and suggestions for things to do. We particularly enjoyed visiting the breathtaking caves at Grotte des Demoiselles as well as Avignon, Montpellier and the beach. We would also highly recommend Auberge Cigaloise in Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort where we had a lovely meal on the last evening of our stay. It was also nice to be within a village giving us the opportunity to walk to the boulangerie everyday for delicious pastries and a variety of breads. We would definitely recommend this property.

Super séjour

Gîte très agréable, spacieux et convivial. Patrick, le propriétaire est d’une gentillesse incroyable, fait tout pour que l’on soit bien installés, donne énormément de conseils et d’informations pour que l’on profite à fond de notre séjour ! Nous recommandons !

Beautifully restored property

The owner was very gracious & welcoming. This home has great spaces & is very well stocked with kitchen equipment. The village is quaint & is a great base x nearby attractions. It was a little confusing finding the home but rewarding to find it tucked just off a main road. Definitely a great place to enjoy family & unwind.

A notre arrivée nous avons été accueilli par Patrick hôte très chaleureux,très disponible pendant toute la durée du séjour et très a notre écoute. Une bouteille de crémant nous attendait sur la table basse ainsi que des jus de fruit au frais pour les enfants. Maison très agréable ,très bien équipée,propre et bien rénovée. Le soir nous profitions de la chaleur du poele à bois avec bois à volonté. Literie de qualité,4 salles de bain pour 8 personnes très appréciables. Nous recommandons vivement cette maison. Un grand merci à Yvonne et Patrick

Sehr schönes Feriendomizil

In dem schönen Haus haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Außenküche im Garten haben wir viel genutzt, sie ist ebenso gut eingerichtet wie die große Küche im Haus. Unsere Kinder und wir haben viel Zeit im Pool verbracht. Pompignan ist ein kleiner Ort mit einer sehr guten Bäckerei und eignet sich gut als Ausgangspunkt für viele schöne Ausflüge und zum Besuch der umliegenden netten Orte. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und hat uns viele gute Tips gegeben.

Merveilleuse depart du printemps

Wir sind eine Familie mit 5 Kindern (2-18 Jahre) und waren zum 4. Mal in dem wunderschönen Haus Philia, wurden wie immer von Patrick herzlichst mit Croissants und einer Flasche Champagner empfangen. Das Haus ist perfekt eingerichtet, Bettenausstattung nach Wunsch, mit einer gut ausgestatteten Küche, die einen wunderbaren Blick über das liebliche Licht der Pyreneen erlaubt. Die Gegend ist eher einsam, erlaubt viele Spaziergänge in die Nahe Umgebung, auch zum Joggen gut geeignet, der Bäcker ist in Fußnähe und die Strände und Städte der Provence in akzeptabler Entfernung. Wir kommen hoffentlich bald wieder!

Très belle maison

Nous y avons passé un très bon séjour. La disposition des chambres et leur aménagement permet une indépendance très agréable. Parfait pour des vacances entre amis ou en famille. L'ensemble est rénové avec goût.

Séjour très apprécié

ous avons loué le mas pour nous retrouver pour les fêtes de fin d'année et avons passé un très bon moment. Le mas est spacieux, très bien équipé et chaque couple a pu apprécier les salles de bains privatives dans chaque chambre. Petit bémol, le chauffage qui a un peu manqué la derrière nuit. Ce séjour nous donne envie de revenir en été !! Merci à Patrick et Yvonne pour leur accueil et pour avoir facilité notre séjour

Un séjour de charme

Nous avons passé un Noël délicieux en famille (10 personnes). En lisière de village, à quelques mètres de la garrigue Cévenole, le mas a été entièrement restauré. Il est spacieux et confortable. Excellent couchage avec sdb attenantes, équipement très complet (lave-vaisselle, lave-linge, cuisine extérieure...). Seul regret nous n'avons pas testé la piscine... En décembre c'est un peu froid, alors nous reviendrons. Grand merci aux hôtes très accueillants Patrick et Yvonne.

Guêpes et travaux !

Nous rentrons d'une semaine passée dans cette maison à Pompignan . La maison est très belle, bien équipée et fonctionnelle grâce à sa cuisine d'été. Nous avons été très déçus de nous lever lundi matin avec les bruits d'une trancheuse car des travaux de voiries avaient lieu juste en bas de la maison. Le propriétaire n'a pas jugé bon de nous signifier ce léger détail lors de notre arrivée le samedi précédent. Il n'est pas responsable des travaux de voiries ... Comprenez chers vacanciers que payez une semaine de vacance à ce prix là n'achètent pas le silence. Entre deux coups de trancheuses (machine qui tranche le béton sur la route en bas de la maison) nous avons eu à exterminer des nids de guêpes nichés dans le toit de la cuisine d'été et dans le grand parasol de la piscine. Un des occupants à été piqué à 3 reprises et nous avons dû le mener chez le médecin pour qu'il lui fasse une piqure, le dernier étant entrain de s'étouffer. Là aussi, c'est notre problème. Nous avons acheté deux bombes afin de tenter de tuer toutes les guêpes. En dehors de cela l'endroit reste charmant nous sommes juste très refroidi par le prioritaire qui, après notre départ, nous accuse sans état des lieux à l'appui d'avoir casser un seau, brûler les couvres plaques et casser le bac pour ranger les boissons dans le frigo. Alors pour les futurs vacanciers nous vous conseillons état des lieux détaillés et bien vérifier auprès de la mairie l'état des travaux avant votre venue. Merci

Magnifique!

A Pâques, nous visitions la belle ostal Philia pour la troisième fois. Et, qu'auparavant, nous sommes passé des vancances merveilleuses. Nous étions là avec deux familles avec des enfants de 6 moins à 15 ans, et la maison était parfait pour tout le monde. Elle est vraiment spacieuse et les hôtes ont rassemblé tous les ingrédients pour assurer un séjour de bien-être à ses visiteurs. La piscine est superbe et la maison est equipée tres génereusement, avec deux cuisine et des salles de bains pour chaque chambre. Il ya une boulangerie à 5 minutes à pied et il y a tellement à découvrir dans le voisinage. C’est simplement magnifique!

Super séjour

Spacious and well equipped house with pool

We have just returned from a lovely stay at Ostal Philia. We were very warmly greeted on arrival by Patrick who has an amazing knowledge of this area of France and gave us really helpful advice about places to visit. The house is large, beautifully decorated and very welcoming with plenty of room for our three families to enjoy being together as well as having their own space if needed. The added bonus was that there are two really well equipped kitchens and dining areas, the second being by the pool, an ideal place to sit and eat during the day. We had a small baby travelling with us and a changing mat and bath were there ready on our arrival. The house is in on the edge of a village with a really excellent boulangerie where we walked to each morning to buy delicious bread and pastries. We also enjoyed lunch at the local restaurant where I believe pizzas are available on Friday and Saturday nights. There are so many places to visit in the area such as the amazing Pont du Gard and the spectacular caves at La Grotte des Demoiselles. We also decided to investigate the beautiful cities of Avignon, and Montpellier (via the really efficient tram system recommended by Patrick) as well as spending time relaxing by the pool and enjoying a day on the beach. On our last day Patrick came over to see us together with his wife, Yvonne, they were both delightful. They obviously love this area very much and want to share it with their guests. Thank you Patrick and Yvonne, for all your help, advice and recommendations, we had a wonderful time in your lovely home.

Traumhaus in Pompignan

Traumhaus im idyllischen Pomignan Lieber Patrick, hier nun endlich unser Feedback von unserem Urlaub. Wir verbrachten vom20.06.15 bis27.06.2015 unseren Motorradurlaub mit insgesamt 4 Biker-Pärchen in Pompignan. Dabei war Patrick vom ersten bis zum letzten Treffen ein toller Gastgeber, der ausgesprochen hilfsbereit war. Für sämtliche Wünsche hatte er ein offenes Ohr und suchte nach Möglichkeiten diese zu erfüllen. Vielen Dank nochmal an dieser Stelle für die tollen Tourempfehlungen und Restaurant-sowie-Einkauftipps!! Das Haus ist einfach traumhaft! Wir haben es gesehen und uns sofort pudelwohl gefühlt. Jedes Pärchen hatte sein eigenes Schlafzimmer mit Bad, so dass es für alle genug Rückzugsmöglichkeiten gab. Die voll ausgestattete Küche im Haus sowie die wunderbare Außenküche ließen keine Wünsche offen. Wir haben fast jeden Tag draußen gegrillt und auf der überdachten Terrasse bis zur späten Stunde unsere Musikabende genossen. Vielen Dank an die netten Nachbarn, die sich nie darüber beklagt haben Der Pool war nach den Touren ein ausgesprochenes Highlight zum Entspannen. In Pompignan gibt es frische Brötchen vom Bäcker und eine Bar mit kleinen Gerichten. Im Nachbarort St-Hyppolyte-du-Fort gibt es alles was man braucht, so dass man nicht ewig weit fahren muss. Ein wundervoller Urlaub mit vielen schönen Erinnerungen, die wir im Herzen bewahren. Lieber Patrick, vielen Dank für alles. Ps. Wir kommen wieder, keine Frage! Die Hondafahrer Carmen und Herbert
