Escape to The Shack – a charming home nestled in the heart of the Port Arthur township, with the Port Arthur Historical Site mere minutes away. This spacious retreat offers the perfect blend of comfort and convenience, with an expansive open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area, two bedrooms, a bathroom, laundry facilities, and plenty of outdoor space.

Relax in the bright living area, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring, with the surround sound on or your favourite Netflix TV show. The well-equipped kitchen provides everything you need to prepare delicious meals, while the cosy bedrooms offer a peaceful retreat for a good night's sleep.
Step outside and enjoy the fresh Tasmanian air on your private outdoor deck. With plenty of outdoor space to relax and unwind, you can soak up the sun or enjoy a quiet moment. Part of the deck is covered so you can enjoy the outdoors even during the bad weather.
Located in the heart of Port Arthur, the Shack is within walking distance of shops, cafes, restaurants, and the historic Port Arthur Site. This is the perfect base to explore the historical site as your ticket allows 2 days of exploring – allow yourself slow mornings and long lazy dinners at The Shack as you spend the majority of the days exploring the riches of the site. The Shack is also a short walk to Stewarts Bay Beach.
If you’re staying longer than 2 days, there’s plenty more to discover in this remote corner of Tassie: hike one of (or all of!) the 3 capes; take a scenic cruise with Pennicott Cruises; explore the many caves and blowholes; or simply relax on the pristine beaches.

This accommodation is called The Shack, but it definitely isn't. We found the great room tastefully decorated and the bedrooms comfy, the bathroom spotless. We especially appreciated its close proximity to Port Arthur, and it was just a short drive to other attractions on the peninsula. Great communication with the property managers. Good experience. We highly recommend.
