My apartment building is in the vibrant heart of the eclectic Hawthorne District, walking distance to Portland's best restaurants, cafes, bookstores, brew-pubs, distilleries, and artisanal shops. All necessary services, from banks to massage therapists, are nearby. Only a mile from downtown, you can easily access the city via bike, walking, or frequent bus service. The interiors feature a sleek, soothing European design with high grade surfaces and finishes for your comfort and style.

Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District puts you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors, with no chain restaurants in sight! Make new friends over vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, get messy with wings right around the corner at Fire on the Mountain, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for a fancy night out at Castagna—all within a 1.5-mile stretch.



Portland isn't just for foodies; the vibrant indie spirit of Hawthorne is alive with plenty of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore. Catch a movie at the Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. We enjoyed our stay there, the kitchen was well appointed for light meals, we brought our own coffee but most people would be happy to have the Nespresso machine stocked with pods. Very close to Hawthorne with its shops and restaurants, which is nice, but also a bit of a drawback due to traffic noise. It's a high density neighborhood with limited parking and we had to park 3 blocks away one night after returning late. The apartment was comfortable and clean overall, and had everything we needed. One suggestion for the owner would be to supply some softer pillows, I know it's totally a personal preference thing, but I found the bed pillows to be way too thick and hard.
