  • The California Condor was a common sight along the Columbia River in Lewis and Clark's day. By the early 1980's, there were only twenty-two left on the face of the planet, all in California. Today, thanks to a massive effort to re-populate the species via in-captivity pairing, there are some two-hundred members. But their recovery is far from assured. The Oregon Zoo has undertaken its own recovery effort whose ultimate goal is the re-introduction of the species into the protected wilderness area around the Columbia River Gorge. In short, to bring them home. For now, they live out their days in a vast, outdoor aviary designed specifically to mimic their habitat in the wild. If you have never seen one up close before, I urge you to come take a look. They are larger than any flying bird you will ever see, unless you go to Peru. And though black and white practically from head to toe, their plumage shines and reflects the light like dark, polished metal. If that doesn't suit your fancy, I will tell you that, as with all big birds, if you wait around long enough, they will do something so awe-inspiring that it will take your breath away, and something so goofy that you will laugh out loud. Great place to stay

Place was big enough for 10 of us and a toddler. Great viewing area upstairs. The two sets of laundry machines was very convenient. We definitely plan on staying here again if we are up there.

Great Family House

This home allowed our family of 11 to enjoy quality time together. There was space for everyone to sleep comfortably. The kitchen was easy to navigate and well stocked with essential items. We made breakfast every morning. The teen grandsons enjoyed the ping pong table.I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a comfortable group stay!

Very large house that easily accommodated our family of 12.

The house was excellent, with plenty of room for everyone. It was nice to have two tables for eating. The backyard was great for the children. It was very convenient to have 2 dishwashers available. Plenty of kitchen items, including plenty of plates and silverware The large screen with a projector in the second floor was a nice addition. Very large garage and additional parking in front of it.

Family wedding

The house was much bigger than expected. We had plenty of room for the bridal party and our family to sleep and eat. The parking situation was not as bad as i had anticipated even when someone not on our party parked in front of the house and left us with only 4 spots. Great memories were made in this beautiful house.

Family vacation

Property is as listed. Plenty of space for 7 adults and 2 children, with extra bedrooms. Great location for us. Communication with host was very easy. Only thing we had problems with was regulating the cooling in the house. The stat kept going into set back and would set to 90 so the house got really hot while we were gone for the day or at night. Otherwise was a great stay!!

Hillsboro Wedding House

We rented this house for our friends and family to stay at during our daughter’s wedding festivities. The house was immaculate and very well stocked with all kitchen, bath, and bedding we could need. The double dishwashers were a life saver! The teenagers enjoyed the game closet. There was plenty of room to sleep all 12 of us and feed/seat an additional 8. Thank you for all of the attention to detail!

Perfect Fit for My Family

This was a great house for my large family to stay in during our recent visit. The number of bedrooms for adults and the bunk rooms for kids were perfect. The large kitchen and two dining room tables accommodated the 12 of us easily. The kids and adults enjoyed the video games, ping pong and foosball. The neighborhood was great and quiet. Our only small issue was the fruit flies. There was garbage in the kitchen and garbage and recycling in the garage that harbored all these fruit flies that came into the house and were a little annoying. But overall this is a perfect setting for a large family vacation! Would definitely stay there again!

Awesome home for large family

Stayed here with relatives for my sons wedding. Absolutely wonderful place for a large group. Absolutely well done to accommodate big group and very nice furnishings. No cheap or barely acceptable stuff like many VRBO places. Full game closet. Lots of extras. Paper products, trash bags, dishes… everything you need to be comfortable. Thank you to hosts. Excellent communicators. If I ever need a large home again, I would book here immediately. Thank you Sylvia!

Excellent Group Option

This was, hands down, one of our best vrbo experiences. A group of us has been renting houses for 8-10 people for a long weekend of board games for over a decade, and this was the best house we've experienced. The house is well appointed with quality furnishings with a well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, ample seating options, and two good sized dining room tables. Unlike many rentals for large groups, nothing felt cheap or second rate. Doors were solid, bedrooms were nicely insulated for sound, tested by some pretty strong snorers in our group (although there is some street noise in the downstairs bedroom during the peak of the morning commute). All the bathrooms had high quality toilet paper, which we very much appreciated and show the hosts' care for the experience of the guests rather than maximizing profit. Overall, an excellent experience and one of the easiest conversations about where to host our event next year that we've ever had.

Perfect fit for our group!

This is the third time my group of friends has stayed in this house. Lots of bedrooms, well-appointed kitchen, and two large tables with ample seating makes it an excellent fit for our annual extended board gaming weekends.

Amazing Birthday Weekend

I wanted a weekend away for my birthday with nothing but board games and friends and an awesome house. Check to all three. This house will accomadate all of your group needs, plenty of open space to hang out, all of the ammenities. The owner's were very communicative with the couple questions I had, and they have a darling story about the house. Will definitely stay here again.

Cousin’s reunion

Every other year the group of cousin’s from my dad’s side of the family get together. Usually we end up with a group of around 20 when spouses and kids are included. With 2 of the cousins living in the greater Portland area, this was great for the rest of us. Spacious and comfortable. If I had one recommendation, I say put an extra fridge in the garage.

Great for large group

This property was excellent for our large group. The location was wonderful - perfect distance from downtown and also easy drive out to Cannon Beach and to Multnomah Falls/Columbia River Gorge. Would 100% recommend this property. The double washer/dryer was a wonderful touch!
