“Quiet, spaceous room which was very clean. The pub served delicious food and there is a fabulous little cafe next door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back when visiting family again. Exceptional value for money with a good breakfast included. Only slight niggle is that the pillows were thin and not supportive. One is not enough and two is too much. Perhaps they could invest in firmer support pillows and the score for this hidden gem would be 10/10.”

“The property was ideal for our needs and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, the booking experience through Expedia was abysmal. We were told the property was unavailable, which was untrue. We were offered an alternative of a 3-bed property which supposedly had 6 double beds. Photos on the Expedia website show this is also untrue.”

“Such a lovely clean modern room in an old property! And the restaurant food was excellent!! ”

“On the whole this was a really comfortable stay in a very practical apartment and a great location. The only issue I had is that there was a tiny amount of toilet paper provided and no washing up liquid at all, and I rang the out of hours Service and left two messages, no one responded to me and they still haven’t responded to me after my trip! Nonetheless, I would recommend this place to stay and I would stay again.”

“The team was incredibly welcoming, and looked after me well. I had a lovely evening meal, and they were kind enough to do an early breakfast for me, as I was doing a long-distance walk and needed to make the most of daylight hours. The room was quite compact, and it is clearly an older building, but was comfy enough for me. The bathroom was compact, but certainly not cramped. ”

“We where down to look at a property nearby we Booked Barton gate farm because it was near to where we needed to be for a few days, the farm is located just on the border of Cornwall and also just outside Holsworthy, It’s in a ideal location away from the hustle and bustle so peace and quiet, the owner was extremely welcoming and really attentive to your needs, the room we had, room 7 was a really good size and a bed that you will literally melt into, Continental breakfast is included in your……

“Adorable and quirky little house, oozing with character. Comfy beds, great location for local shops and restaurants, and as a base to explore the area. Only slight negative for us was getting used to town noises as we live in a village. The Combat Collection at Cobatton, and Instow beach (both recommended by the host) are worth a visit, and my boys (16 & 14) loved outdoor laser tag at Survival Combat Games.”

“One night business stay , clean compact, ideal as it’s in centre of town , ideal for food, all with walking distance etc, there is a car park in front of hotel very near, but has time restrictions, didn’t bother me as I was out before 8am For me breakfast was to late, but the landlady made me a take out as I wanted to be out earlier than they start breakfast , thank you ”

“The settings is stunning but unfortunately the accommodation urgently needs updating.The plates and cups are chipped,the cooker must be 30 years old ,and takes a long time to heat up .The TV must be 19 inch ,the lounge suite sinks in at the back causing sore backs .There is no towel rails to hang your towels.The main bedroom,well the dressing table is a shelf ,there is no shelves just a wardrobe to hang clothes .The duvet is very thin and old and the cover is faded and polyester, horrible.My……

“John and Anita were really welcoming. We managed to park quite easily on the street nearby. Room was lovely, overlooking golf course. Bed really comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Great value stay.”
