"This is the 3rd time we have stayed. The reason we keep returning is, it has everything, clean rooms,helpful staff good onsite parking excellent breakfast and is dog friendly. Will definitely be booking again"

"The hotel was full of character. The bar was wonderful. Full of dark panelling and leather sofas. The food was excellent The staff were really nice. The bed was comfy and it was so quiet. The hotel is getting a make over and it will be super but I like it's old worldly charm now. The receptionist, I think her name was Lizzie, apologies for not remembering but she gave us a tour of the rooms in the old part. The honeymoon suite was gorgeous. The bathroom had a claw footed bath. There was a couple of rooms with spiral staircases! I hope the owner keeps these. It was a nice surprise to stay there and very cheap. I was surprised that not many people were there on a Friday. A hidden gem."

"Hotel was clean, room was nice but a bit tired. Room was hot and a bit stuffy so I opened the window to hear banging and clanging from the adjacent warehouse which went on all night."

"We stayed in the gate house as a family of 3 and chose this hotel as it was a short drive to the flower bowl entertainment centre. The room was out of the main hotel in a separate building and was nicely done with comfy beds. We had an evening meal in the walled garden restaurant and both the food and service were great. We didn’t use the pool as it was £10pp to use the facilities. The only thing that really let down our stay was the buffet breakfast as many of the items had not been refilled leaving many items not available and the food that was there was cold. As the breakfast was an added cost to the room I wish we had gone elsewhere for breakfast. I did tell the receptionist on check out as there hadn’t been any staff around at breakfast to tell and was told he was sorry to hear that."

"This was a last minute booking but on arrival the staff were excellent, really helpful and happy to accommodate with any queries or requests. The room was clean and spotless but if i had any criticism it was that i couldn't adjust the heating and it was on full blast most of the time making the room a little to warm. If i am ever back in the area i will definitely consider this a a base of operations."

"Just had an overnight stay. The staff where friendly and chatty. Laura the receptionist was very helpful. Room was lovely and clean by Sarah, who left a nice welcoming message for us on the mirror. Windows need a clean outside and some of the double glazing has failed. Food for breakfast excellent quality with plenty of choice both british and European. Bar staff where great and dinner was cooked freshly accommodating our dietary needs with no fuss. I would recommend it to all who want a great night out in Preston and a good night's sleep. Beds comfy an you can control ac to be on all night if you need it."
