The hotel was very nice and clean. We stayed two nights and loved that our dog friendly room was near an exit and had a sliding glass door to let her out as well as unload the car. Fabulous! The breakfast was decent. Fun to walk through the halls of the hotel and see the placards with the famous people who slept there in the past with the movie posters accompanying the signage. The hotel is close to many of the great attractions in Canon City.

Second try good

First room of our reservation had a terrible musty smell and was dark and not well furnished. The desk clerk was very helpful and changed us to another room that was much better. It was comfortable and roomy.

We checked in very late after a very long drive. Going into room it had a very gross smell. There was live bugs in the shower! Looking up in the ceiling there was moldy spots that look like they tried painting over. The room was so dated and worn. The bathroom was the worse. The check in lady was nice and informative. But we were so dead tired from the drive and had to wake up in a few hours to leave we didn’t have the energy to fight about the room. Definitely will never stay here again. Was positive from other people’s reviews but was let down.

Great experience. The room was very clean, bed comfy, check-in staff friendly and helpful. There was some remodeling going on but it didnt affect us at all. The breakfast host very obviously enjoyed her job. She greeted guests, knew which ones had been there yesterday, made recommendations on sight-seeing options. Nice place for not a lot of money..
