“Enjoyed the stay only thing bed was too hard and pillow was too flat no fluff in it at all. Other than that we enjoyed it granddaughter enjoyed the pool and made new friends. Mahalo!”

“We loved our stay here. This particular unit has one of the best locations on the property with a direct view of the ocean. We saw many whales right offshore from our unit! The location near the black sand beach was fantastic and we loved the ocean and turtles. It is a quiet and peaceful place to visit. The unit was very comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed and was perfect for a quiet getaway.”

“Very nice vacation suite, nicely stocked kitchen with many appliances to use. The patio opens up just outside pool/hot tub area. Love the location, just down the road from black sand beach. This was our second time staying in Colony 1, can't wait to come back again!”

“It was very convenient location in Hilo. Next to lovely grounds. I did not see a hot tub, but did use pool. We had a mountain view but not an ocean view. The 3 balconies were great for viewing. For the price this is a good value. The bathtubs are old. But, they work fine. It is an older unit and building, but it was comfortable. Two bedroom and two bathrooms. Has coffee filters and shampoo. Has parking under facility. Walkable to a beach and lovely park area.”

“You have to go down a flight of steps to enter the condo which could be a challenge carrying luggage. The internet did not work until Julie came to the rescue with the updated Wi-Fi information. Thank you again Julie! The condo was small, but conveniently located and adequately equipped.”

“Very nicely kept and quiet property away from everything. About a 2 hour drive from the airport, but easy enough. Very close to the black sand beach and Volcano park. Only downside was no air conditioning, but it cooled off nicely at night with the windows open. It was comfortable for our group of 5 for the 2 days we were there. Thanks!”

“The house was beautiful and location was ideal for visiting Volcanoes National Park and black sand beach. Only knock we have was the shower water temperature never got very warm. While it wasn’t cold, it wasn’t ideal either. Otherwise 5 stars!”

“The unit was exactly as pictured. The grounds and the lanai view were gorgeous and old time Hawaiian, with lava walls everywhere. Very laid back and quiet rural area, easy walk to the beach. The first day there we saw a turtle and a small eel hanging out in the tidepools. Comfortable bed and nice unit, beautiful large shower with stone floor. Well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the pool. No issues getting into the unit. Great place to get away from it all.”

“Condo wasnt exactly described correctly...sleeper sofa was not operational, disherwasher was broken and other issues were apparent, however the property manager was very helpful with all issues”
