Beautiful resort. Staff very friendly and helpful especially a gentleman named Oscar. Oscar originally escorted my girlfriend and I to our room when we got there. He mainly works at the main buffet and is the nicest person I’ve met on that resort. He remembered our names and treated us very well.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome from the front desk team. The check-in process was smooth, and every staff member I encountered went out of their way to be helpful and courteous. 🏨 The room was impeccably clean, beautifully furnished, and incredibly comfortable. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches—from the high-quality toiletries to the cozy linens—that made me feel truly at home. 🍽️ The dining experience was exceptional. The Colonial was a fine resort. Nothing out of this world but I got what I was expecting. Staff very friendly. Food was ok (very repetitive especially with desserts), drinks could be better. I noticed if you want real top shelf drinks, you need to specify or else you'll get their watered down, not so good tasting alcohol. And once they know you and you tip them well, they continue to serve you correctly. The only downfall for me was allowing people to smoke wherever they want. At times I had to relocate myself at several outdoor areas/lobbies etc because of all the smoking going on. Other resorts have dedicated areas for smokers but this resort still does not. I hope they consider this in the future. Another was the wait time at the Steakhouse. We waited over an hour to get our meal. Because of this we missed the evening show. The Japanese restaurant was by far the best all inclusive restaurant I have ever been to. Highly recommended. All in all, a good experience at the Colonial.

If you are staying on the Colonial Club side of the resort, you will be taken care of from the time you arrive at the lobby steps to when you depart. As soon as we arrived, our luggage was taken off our shuttle and tagged to be brought to our room for us. We were led to the VIP lobby where they got us set up, and our butler Alberto met with us. Alberto was the best butler we could've asked for! He gladly made every reservation and every accommodation we asked for and did all he could to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We were on our Honeymoon and trying to take advantage of the Honeymoon package offerings, and some items were not offered to us right away, such as a door sign, romantic decorations, a complimentary romantic breakfast, and dinner that we kept having to ask Alberto about, but he made sure to get us everything we deserved! Prior to the trip, I was worried about food choices as I am very picky, but there were always so many options, whether you choose to go to the beach restaurant, one of the lobby restaurants, or the buffet. Food for every type of eater. As for the room, upon arrival, the room was very clean. The toilet was by far the most surprising, as you barely have room to turn yourself around with the door closed. Throughout our stay, our room was cleaned when we desired, and there were only a handful of times they forgot to replenish an item, such as towels, and it would take a while to get a hold of someone.

The property was nice however some rooms could be updated. My room had a broken curtain and mold in the bathroom. I had a bad experience with a staff member who made a error with a dinner reservation and blamed it on me. The staff member did not take any accountability or try to offer alternatives. I am not sure I would go back to this resort.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Everything was clean, the food was tasty, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The only downside is that the rooms are showing signs of age and could use some renovation. Still, overall a good experience.

The resort itself is nice and I noticed that the efforts to keep the beach clean of seaweed were top-notch. That was something that I was very grateful for and I'm sure other visitors highly appreciated it. However, I noticed areas that could use a few improvements. There was a lot of trash and litter getting to the property, which I know isn't necessarily a Majestic problem, it's a country-wide problem. As far as the resort itself, the buffet options could be improved as the food is just "ok". My mother and I had a room to ourselves and the outlets barely worked. Keep in mind that there are probably over 10 outlets in the whole room and when we tried each and every one of them, I would say the majority of them were either functioning half the time, or just not functioning at all. I was told that I should've mentioned this sooner, but I didn't because I assumed it would take a very long time to fix since it was an electrical issue and decided that it wasn't worth mentioning until the very last day of our stay. The front desk attendant told me that it would've been a quick fix. The bartenders at the pool bar can seriously use some help because it takes a long time to order a drink, let alone get their attention. The air conditioner in the rooms can be MUCH colder and the resort tries to trick you into thinking that when you set the temperature to 64.4 degrees, that it's really that temperature, when in reality it's nowhere near it. Also, please fix the front elevators.

The pool is beautiful and soooo clean! Property is gorgeous!! Rooms are a little dated but nothing horrible—TOTALLY worth what we paid. Food was good—no issues with high salt levels as other reviews have mentioned and tons of variety. I had 1 vegan in our travel party and she was satisfied as well—although dinners were a little limited for her—we figured out a way to make it work. My vegan would have had a harder time if we stayed longer—but for 6 days it worked out well. This resort was DEFINITELY worth the price—a few bumps but nothing horrible—and the main parts of the resort were beautiful-clean and well kept. Someone at the hotel told me they’re closing this part in a few months to refresh the rooms—if so—then that will be a HUGE value add. The golf was also worth it! Normally a day of golf runs about $500 pp on the island—to have a green fee included in our stay was perfect! Casino is a little small—but typical for all-inclusive and enough there to keep us busy. Something I noticed-everyone spoke Spanish with limited English—that’s different than most of the islands I’ve been to—however—it was fine—everyone was pleasant enough and willing to help—sometimes it took a minute or two to get what we needed—but there’s always google translate and there’s WiFi through the whole resort—so that was great as well— All in all great trip—would recommend for families on a budget—worth every penny we spent!!!!
