Awesome rooms. Nice resort. Great spa. Hot tub on the balcony was nice. If you want a beachfront bed be prepared to pay more for it (not included, and not explained anywhere; a waiter will ask you for a payment after you sit down in a beach bed). Impossible to get a bed at the main pool where there is bar service because people “reserve” them by dropping towels very early in the morning and then go back to bed. Food was extremely lacking. Hard to get dinner reservations. Reservations must be made in person in the lobby. I was a party of 1 and the one night I got a reservation they tried to insist I sit at a table with a family (with kids) I didn’t know. I refused and only then did I get my own table. When I expressed frustration about dining, staff kept shrugging and directing me to the sports bar, the only sit down restaurant that didn’t need reservations. Buffet food often tasted stale or spoiled to me (e.g., salad bar items tasted old and musty). Room service menu was extremely limited and poor quality (food arrived burned, not matching the menu, fries were always stale, off putting odors on the fresh veggies, etc). When I brought all of this to the attention of the concierge at checkout, he smiled and suggested I come back another time. This was my second stay and I do not recall it being anything like this the first time. I won’t be back. The place has an impressive atmosphere but if the food’s bad and I can’t lay out in the sun, why am I paying for an all inclusive?

Rooms were clean and updated. Service was great. Staff was friendly. Drinks were awesome. They have coors lite and coronas as well! We had a swim up with concierge . If you have kids, it’s worth it. We did a trip for purely relaxation and we barely left our swim up pool! Servers came right to the pool for orders! We went to the beach a couple times, Carts are every couple minutes. We never waited and the kids loved sitting in the back seat. Water was warm. Seaweed was there but not horrible. The sellers on the beach were the worst part. They would fight over you to each other if another one already spoken to you and it makes things very uncomfortable. But I know that is everywhere. As a polite Canadian saying “maybe later” didnt cut it, you just had to be polite and tell them NO thank you sternly, until the next one came seconds later. They beach restaurant was fabulous and so was the person cooking bbq with another Buffett to the side. Aquazone and fun republic were AMAZING! The workers were fantastic and so nice and really interacted with the kids. Great stay! We will be back for sure!!

Our Concierge, Gabriel, an his Manager, Dinni, were outstanding. Room was excellent. Food was very good. Staff were very good. We would consider coming again.

For the most part we were very happy with our stay at Paradisus Grand Cana. A coupe of things would have more positively influenced my review, however. Food: the first couple of days were surprisingly disappointing. I was concerned it would continue that way (bland, unseasoned food and a lack of tropical fruit). However it suddenly improved and we were not unsatisfied for the rest of the trip. Rooms: of all things I think this was the best part of the trip - spacious, clean and well lit. Apart from sporadic water bottle delivery (which should be improved) we were very comfortable. I would recommend changing the mattress on the sofa bed, which was very thin and bumpy (we had to get rollaway beds for the kids) Service: the actions of a few can influence the overall experience. We met several employees who were excellent (courteous, thoughtful and kind) but there were inconsistencies. From the sullen towel delivery to dishes that piled up on the dining tables, there could definitely have been more close attention to service, particularly within a 5-star rated resort. One big thing that can be improved -

The room was nice, the kitchen was not equipped for cooking, the hot tub was somewhat small for a tall person, but otherwise fit two people and had hot.water. The room we booked showed a lounge chair on the balcony in the photos, but was missing upon checking in. Several attempts were made by us to Angel (our purser) and guess services to get the lounger delivered to the room, but the lounger never materialized. The pools are not heated FYI. The all inclusive was very good with lots of food and drink options. Make sure to book dinner reservations the day before to ensure you can get a table.

Family concierge is a must if travelling with kids. The one bedroom swim up suite was a very good size and perfect for a family of 4. Our concierge Onil was very helpful with everything. The property is very well maintained and looks in good conditions. Could have done with a wider variety in the buffet, and possibly slightly more variation in restraurant types if staying for for than 5 days. Overall a very good hotel

My family of 4 stayed at the paradisus grand Cana in a swim up suite facing the garden which i loved way more than the swim ups facing the main pool. It’s less noisy and only the people who have swim out rooms can access it. The water park was great for my kids. Food was ok. The restaurants were pretty good. Rooms were nice and clean only thing I would recommend is the hotel clean the couches and chairs as they are fabric. Also the chairs at the buffet were dirty. Need a good cleaning
