The was absolutely beautiful and that is why you stay at La Mariposa. Breakfast was excellent. The room we had was an ocean view and while it is very, very big, the bathroom is similar to a prison cell. It’s black painted cinderblock with very low light. The only showerhead they have is a rain head so if you didn’t wanna wash your hair, you have to because there’s no way to keep it dry. The sink was out in the main area when you showered water pulled into your room the toilet and bidet were quite low and if you were tall at all, your knees are hitting the wall. The Desk staff was Fair at best The parking staff were hit or miss. We had one very, very wonderful guy who took care of us. We made a dinner reservation days in advance actually weeks in advance and when we went for our dinner, we were asked to wait in the bar area, which we did however, the manager or whoever was managing forgot about us. It was a birthday celebration for both my husband and I we had neither flowers on the table nor a light on the table, the dinner was excellent and was a bit overpriced compared to area restaurants. we stayed at the Shana in the past and that was by far better service. The room was much better appointed and much more comfortable. We were given three towels, a day, two bath towels, one hand towel and a floor towel so we ended up using our pool towel on the floor because water was coming out of the shower and was quite dangerous to walk on. There’s no closet so all of your stuff is out

Staff was kind, as almost all the Costa Rican people are. Hotel has stunning view and provides daily shuttle to beach. However, it's been 5 days since we left the hotel and the hotel administration has not yet returned our deposit. Not sure why they even held a deposit as no other hotels we've stayed at have done this. They've held 100,000 colones and we've talked to front desk staff, emailed them everyday since we left and still we haven't received our deposit back. It would be beneficial for more guests to ask them not to withhold our funds. There is really no reason why they would.

We ended our two-week road trip through Costa Rica in Manuel Antonio, and choosing to stay at La Mariposa Hotel was absolutely the right decision. Amazing hotel, through and through. The location is fantastic — close to several great restaurants, so we didn’t even need to drive to find good food. At the same time, being located in Quepos gave us easy access to beautiful beaches where we enjoyed different views, stunning sunsets, soft sand, and the relaxing sound of the waves. It was the perfect place to unwind after two weeks of exploring. The atmosphere, the scenery, and the convenience made our final days in Costa Rica truly special. We highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Manuel Antonio. It’s the ideal combination of great location, beautiful surroundings, and a relaxing coastal vibe.

Wonderful views overlooking Manuel Antonio anf the Pacific Ocean. Nice large pool and restaurant that never seemed too crowded despite the high season. Beautiful grounds. The location is near multiple restaurants within an easy walk. There are a couple ofbeaches that one csn walk to but that’s for the adventurers who don’t mind the heat and no sidewalks. There is a free shuttle to a more established beach in town.

Our king suite was overlooking the ocean and Manuel Antonio national park!! The entire wall was a window! It was a million dollar view. I said I could have just sat on the balcony or in the bed looking out and enjoyed my experience! The included bfast is amazing and the grounds are like being in the national park. We saw a baby sloth up close right by the bar and had monkeys on our balcony. Very friendly and helpful staff and clean and gorgeous hotel. Very close to wonderful food options. We drove an hour south to a beach with bigger waves, but this was still a perfect place to stay and jump off from. The front desk helped us schedule parasailing. Easy to park. Real gem.

La Mariposa was a highlight of our trip. The property is beautiful, and the view is absolutely incredible. Waking up to floor to ceiling windows and an ocean and national park view never got old. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the infinity pool overlooking the ocean was a favorite spot. We even saw monkeys on the property. Breakfast each morning was wonderful, and the staff were so lovely and accommodating throughout our stay. The property’s location is ideal, within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The beach is about a 25 minute downhill walk and there’s also a property shuttle to the beach if you don’t feel like walking. We are absolute looking forward to staying here again.
