We enjoyed our stay very much. The views, nature, and atmosphere were an awe. We interacted with different staff on a daily basis and each one made us feel welcomed and valued. I highly recommend Makanda by the sea.

We had an amazing stay at Makanda by the Sea. The property is absolutely beautiful, but what really made the trip special was the staff. They helped coordinate everything before we arrived, including our private airport transfers, excursions, dinner reservations, and even made sure my gluten-free meals were taken care of throughout our stay. They were always available to give us rides around the property, which made everything so easy.
Our room with the private pool was incredible and quickly became one of our favorite parts of the trip. The privacy, ocean views, and attention to detail made it the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing and memorable experience and would absolutely stay here again.

O hotel é muito bem cuidado, a equipe de funcionários super bem treinada e prestativa.
Piscina, banheiros, toalhas, tudo perfeito.
Ficamos na suíte WOW e durante a noite achamos um pouco mal iluminada, mas durante o dia a iluminação natural é espetacular.

Rarely (never!) am I ever left without words, but our 4 days at Makanda left me truly speechless. Every single aspect out our stay was impeccable. The service. The grounds. The staff. Every single tile on the golf cart path is perfect. There is no detail of this resort that hasn’t been thought through and perfectly executed.
And then there are the monkeys and the sloth and the toucans and macaws and parrots. The sounds of the rainforest… vibrating and ALIVE… I felt like I was inside a National Geographic documentary.
Something about being here made me feel so humble and small and privileged to experience such an incredible corner of the world.
To all of the staff who took such great care of us, we thank you for the best few days of our lives.

The wild beach is interesting but not very swimmable (extremely rocky), sometimes rough surf. Accessibility is golf cart dependent. Difficult property to move around without the golf cart. And they didn't have crocs my size. (only up to M10 and I'm a 13) Otherwise, property is beautiful and service is top notch. Love the ocean club pool and bar. (Thanks Elias!)

This hotel is an absolute dream! The rooms are beautifully appointed, comfortable and private. The pools are gorgeous, especially the saltwater infinity pool where you can relax and watch the most magnificent sunsets over the Pacific Ocean. Food is excellent, and drink selections at all the bars are fantastic, made with natural fruit and premium spirits. Don’t forget to check out the small private beach, where you’ll find white-faced capuchin monkeys swinging from the trees. A stay at Makanda will make Manuel Antonio even more magical!
