Nice stay for the right situation
Condo was in very good condition overall. Could use some SD-style wall decor to sell the theme for us folks vacationing from out of town. Seemed like we may’ve been the first renters. Had the basics, but was missing some common things. Needs additional plates, bowls, cups, towels, kitchen items, etc, and would benefit from some additional living room seating. Owners were very responsive with any requests, including bringing over a vacuum to clean the carpets.
The condo does not have central air, only a wall AC unit in the living room. Ceiling fan in master bedroom and living room but not in bedroom #2. It was pretty warm a couple of nights, and fine others. In typical SD fashion, we had high temps ranging from 55 to 100 during our August stay. Didn’t try the wall heaters. Your comfort mileage may vary.
Speaking of mileage, the location is great if it’s where you want to be. Had easy access to main roads and downtown Rapid City, and was 30-ish minutes from Mount Rushmore, with Custer further south. Very doable but a bit far north if all of your daily treks will be down south to the awesome parks. Neighborhood was residential and quiet.
Overall this place is great for a couple, but not as ideal for a family of 4, although certainly very doable. The owners were very responsive and brought over everything requested, including a toilet plunger, which made our stay more enjoyable. I’m sure this condo will gain more character and amenities as more people discover it.
