“La Cuvellerie is a beautiful and comfortable old estate in the quaint village of Narcy, close to the Sancerre wineries. Our host Marc was the kindest man, finding us an open restaurant when we we arrived late in the evening, helping us with our personal needs, even frying us eggs for breakfast. The rooms are quaint and comfortable, showcasing 300 year old construction techniques with hand-hewn beams and dowels. As with any old home, it has its charming ideosyncracies. “The apartment is so convenient to the language school and offers extremely comfortable bedrooms with a French flair. We did not use either of the salons at all, but spent most of our time in the kitchen or in our bedrooms.. The bathroom had a great skylight and was very spacious. I also loved the fact that the owners offered bikes for our use. On the downside, the patio was always in the shade, so it was not inviting to sit outside. The house, too, felt very cold to me, even on a beautiful fall……
