This extravagant 240sqm luxury villa sits on a hilltop, approx. 3 km from the village of Prines, with breathtaking panoramic views of the sea and mountains. With a great sense of design and style, an extraordinary natural stone property was created here in 2013 that is unparalleled on Crete. The architect's idea was to combine a traditional Cretan stone house with Venetian influences, reminiscent of the 16th century summer villas in Crete. The exposed hillside location was the basis for a spacious overall concept. Under the credo “Free space for the soul and senses”, Villa Rimondi enables a feeling of freedom and security at the same time in all living areas. This holiday palace will fascinate you from afar. Strong castle battlements give the mountain villa a historical face that is visible from afar and is reminiscent of a small fort. Through a heavy wooden gate with an iron lion's head you enter the romantic, secluded courtyard with 2 olive trees and immediately feel the Mediterranean flair and the absolutely relaxed privacy. A Venetian fountain, modeled on the famous Rimondi fountain from the provincial capital Rethymnon, bubbles quietly in the background. You enter the spacious living room through the decorated oak door and the high panoramic arches offer you an unforgettable view over the infinity pool, which seems to merge with the sea and the landscape. From the modern open kitchen your view will alternate between the White Mountains in the west and the sea in the north - decide for yourself which is more attractive.

Villa Rimondi is located about 3 km from the villages of Atsipopolou and Prines, where you will find taverns and shopping opportunities. There are 4 holiday villas here in absolute peace and nature on a total of approx. 14,000 square meters. Rimondi is located at the very front in a secluded location on 4500 square meters of fenced grounds. It is about 6 km to the beach and about 5 km to Rethymnon.

The house has mobile internet with unlimited data volume. This makes it possible to use streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV or Zoom participation. Villa Rimondi has a Smart TV in the living room that is connected to the internet. You can log in to your streaming service via your personal account. Mobile internet in Greece is subject to quality fluctuations for which we cannot accept responsibility.
Crete is not called the sunny island for nothing and the island of the gods also has a lot to offer between November and April. That's why your holiday home is also perfectly equipped for visits outside of the season: underfloor heating in the living room, kitchen, master bedroom and all 4 bathrooms. Indoor fireplace stove with a view of the fire, outdoor fireplace under the Camara stone arches, 4 covered outdoor lounge areas, heated pool (pool heating at an additional cost) and heated jacuzzi (without bubble function), heating via air conditioning possible. The stated rental prices include the use of the Jacuzzi at €15 per day. If, despite careful maintenance, the Jacuzzi is temporarily unheatable due to technical problems, the renter is entitled to a refund of €15 per day of unheated use. Any further claims are excluded.
The optional pool heating service is a fixed-price add-on. Its failure does not entitle you to cancel your booking. In the event of a pool heating failure, compensation is limited to the stated daily cost of use . Any claims beyond this are excluded.
The pool heating can only function properly if the outside temperature is not too cold and it is not too windy. A water temperature of 28 degrees Celsius cannot be guaranteed in such cases.
The pool can be heated from May 1st to November 7th. Pool heating is not included in the price and will be charged separately. Price upon request.
**November 7th to March 31st, prices do not include electricity! Electricity is charged according to consumption.
The pool is not in use from December to the end of March.
The winter prices, from November 7th to the end of March, include final cleaning. During this period, intermediate cleanings are not included, but can be arranged and will be charged separately.
The minimum stay from December 1st to March 31st is 28 nights.
The minimum stay from April 1st to May 21st is 7 nights.
From April 1st to November 6th, utilities are included in the rental price.
Check-in time is 2:00 PM, check-out time is 10:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out can be booked subject to availability.
Starting in 2024, there is a new tourism policy:
As of January 1st, 2024, an eco-tax has been introduced for all guests. This is staggered according to category and season.
The fee from March 1st to October 31st is €15 per night per villa. For the months of November to February 28th, the fee is €4.00 per night.
The amount must be transferred directly to the landlord's account four weeks prior to arrival, which will then be transferred to the Greek tax authorities.
