The Editory Riverside Hotel, an Historic Hotel

"This is a cool historic hotel, with the longest hallway I’ve ever seen! It is decorated with a train/travel theme. The rooms have a somewhat unique layout; the toilet is separate from the shower. It is above an active train station but the low, occasional rumbles aren’t disturbing; I thought it cool to hear them. The location is good; we were able to walk to Alfama, which is behind and above the hotel. The restaurant is very good, we enjoyed a dinner and the breakfast buffet was great. However, we most appreciated the service. They emailed me in advance to arrange an early morning transfer to the airport and confirmed the night before. They prepared breakfast boxes for us as well to take with us to the airport."

"Excellent stay! The hotel was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the service made the entire experience feel very high-end. The staff even brought our luggage up to the room, which was such a nice touch after a long day of traveling. I was especially impressed by all the little details in the room. They provided vanity kits, toothbrushes and toothpaste, a brush, and other toiletries that you don't always find in hotels. Everything was thoughtfully presented and made the stay feel much more luxurious. The combination of the cleanliness, attentive service, and thoughtful amenities genuinely made the hotel feel upscale. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it. 5 stars!"

"The hotel is conveniently located as it is close to the airport. It is also close to metro stations. The hotel could use new pillows as the ones in our room were flat, and the towels also smelt damp. It does not seem that early check-in is an option, even if an hour or two earlier than the 3 PM check-in time. Otherwise, our stay at the hotel was decent."
