“Traveling with my cousin and his family. Their room had no hot water on first night and first morning after. Staff was unaware that first afternoon after if it had been fixed. They had to switch rooms, and got a smaller room that our reservation. We asked for some sort of compensation for this major inconvenience (just for my cousin, not for me), and hotel said they couldn’t comp us breakfast because we paid thru Expedia but they would be in touch. However it is 3 days later and no contact……

“We stayed at this hotel in Portugal where a faulty balcony lock led to a break-in and theft of our valuables. The manager promised to investigate and contact us about reimbursement, but never followed up and has been unresponsive for over a month. This experience shows poor security and terrible management, and we were left completely dissatisfied.”
