Ripley's Believe It or Not

The room was so small especially bathroom there was no enough space. There was no table only 1 chair in the room. There was no reception it was a machine. It was not comfortable. Ac was making a noise we couldn’t turn on and it was so hot in the night. Tv was bigger than bathroom. They charged me 150$ deposit in the check in time and check out time they told me they will give me back 7 business days also first time in my life I paid deposit for hotel room, also they charging 10$ daily parking for their private parking lot crazyyyy.

I checked out the reviews before booking this place for my 6 day trip to LA. Not one mentioned how noisy it is. In the heading on expedia it says Hotel / not Motel so I was a bit unsure at first. On arrival I was welcomed by the staff member on duty who was very welcoming but I was then asked to pay a $50 surcharge. I was also told that the room is cleaned every 3 days, not everyday . I was then given a map, the WiFi password etc and headed to the room. The room was clean and spacious / shower was good enough and there were plenty of towels. I tried to connect to the wifi as I had initial issues with my service provider, but it kept coming up with an error message, so I had no Internet. From that night to my last night, I was woken up around 3 times from late night to early morning. The walls are paper thin, your room door is outside in the elements / motel on a main road plus there is building work being done next door. What I came to realise was the noise was mainly from the Swingers diner next door. Their back room / access to trollies etc is right by the pool. The diner closes at 3am so you can hear staff talking / glass bottles being tipped in bins and trollies being run up and down. I didn't get one good night's sleep unfortunately. The positives about this place is the staff. They are very professional/ helpful and welcoming. Would I book again, no, but if I needed 1 night stay, I probably would.
