"Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The young woman who checked us in was very helpful and courteous. A satisfying breakfast was available each morning. The parking lot and all entryways were very well lit. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area."

"The Elk Inn is conveniently located in Elkin, a nice town with a few dining options. The motel is a two-story standard motel with convenient parking. I was there for a few nights. The bed was comfortable and the heater worked fine. But the motel is very long in the tooth. Feels old and a bit neglected. Electrical outlets are very inconvenient, and one was connected in line with a light switch. The TV system was inscrutable. The bathroom facility was ok, but the operator seemed to think that one roll of toilet paper was ok for 4 nights. No backup. There was a very dead roach on the floor, making me think I was walking on a layer of insecticide. The lower floor is not very private. Overall, I found this place to feel really old and not up to the standard for a weary traveler, expecting comfort and modernity. I would not return unless nothing in the area was available. The desk staff was friendly and helpful."

"We stayed here to go to Merlefest in Wilkesboro. It is a straight shot there. Hotel was comfortable and clean. The exercise room could stand an upgrade."

"Check in was difficult with a person who we had trouble understanding due to a very heavy accent and who appeared to have difficulty with our expedia reservation. She also refused to believe that I had a disability. The room had a definite musty smell and the carpet looked like it needed to be shampooed. The air conditioning worked but was noisy. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. The shower was far to low on the wall for my 6'6" frame. There was no soap in the soap dispenser or it was broken. The breakfast items were sparse and there were no coffee cups available. The person at the front desk appeared bored and uncaring. The room needs a complete make over and the property is in need of maintenance. Not horrible but I'm sure there are better options in the area"

"There is no bar but JBs restaurant is on the property and is terrific (cash only). The room was clean, the staff was friendly, it was quiet, and has a lot of parking. If I’m ever up that way again, I’ll stay there. "

"Fantastic weekend retreat at the 'Beautiful Mountain Getaway' home. This house had everything that you need for your trip away from home. Craig was a fantastic host. He was very communicative, informative and accommodating. We enjoyed several rounds of golf at Olde Beau, which was just 1 mile away. Afterwards, we relaxed on the newly built, gorgeous rear deck overlooking the private golf course. Then ended each evening along side the spacious outdoor firepit. The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials needed for a stress free vacation. I particularly enjoyed the Keurig coffee maker with a multitude of delicious complimentary k cups to enjoy. This home fit our needs perfectly with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, five beds and futon that sleeps six persons.
