I guess this depends on what you define as a "short walk." There are several options for parking and the closest two lots were full when I got there, so it's very inconvenient to load/unload and very confusing to figure out in the dark when I arrived with the instructions given. “We stayed in the cottage for a weekend when our daughter graduated from nearby Kutztown University. It was the perfect spot to chill and hang out the day before and after the ceremony. We played pool, video games, and enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the chickens. The fresh eggs offered by our hosts were a nice touch! Just a few minutes from KU, and a pub/restaurant within walking distance.”

“The home is great. The hosts are wonderful, accommodating, and quickly responsive to questions- they even gave food recommendations. We enjoyed a wonderful stay in the heart of Amish country. The neighborhood is not great for walking, but there are sidewalks directly adjacent to the house, and you can walk safely around the block. We found hiking trails at Money Rocks County Park in the Welsh Mountains (about 30 minutes) that we did not try... yet. And we found a wonderful park within 5 minutes……
