Let me start by saying that the Hotel Barrett staff are very nice but felt more like a revolving door of people than someone we could provide feedback to. My husband and I arrived at noon (local time) and we were told our room would be ready at 3:30. We explored and anxiously awaited our 3:30 check in as we were experiencing jet lag. The room wasn’t ready until closer to 4pm which was disappointing.
When we got to the room, the amenities were good and we were given a bottle of wine. However, the fridge in the room didn’t work (hot) which wouldn’t have been an issue it was just to keep our stuff cold but the main reason we booked the hotel was for the food and drink offerings after a long flight - the meat, cheese and cold cuts were inedible.
Additionally and most egregiously, the bathroom (with 2 steps leading to it) had no mats. As a result, I slipped down both steps after getting out of the shower. This was the first night of our honeymoon and I’ve been dealing with the consequences ever since (minor fracture in my foot, severe bruising and pain).
We only stayed one night at Hotel Barrett and while it was a nice location, we wouldn’t stay there again.
