Great location near Roma Termini so that traveling around is convenient, but beware that reviews on Expedia are not the closest reflection of the hotel (refer to Google reviews instead). And one of the restaurants recommended by the staff was tasty and affordable, with complimentary proseco We may have been unlucky during check in, or just given the lowest priority, but we arrived early for check-in and was told to come back at 2PM as rooms were not ready yet, so we did at 2PM and were told rooms were still not ready. However, while we were resting, I overheard another guest arriving and checking in without an issue with their room available within 10 minutes. I was slightly annoyed and went back out to explore Rome, returning around 6PM to see if our rooms were ready yet, and even then the receptionist had to call the cleaners to see if it was ready yet (or to rush them to do a shoddy clean). The rooms themselves were basic and adequate, and nice to have a nespresso machine and fridge, but the air conditioning could not be adjusted to lower temperatures (default ~23c), and I would NOT recommend eating the cupcakes available in the lobby area - those cupcakes were untouched for the entire week we were staying there.

The rooms were spotlessly clean and look exactly as they were pictured which I found was not the case for a lot of other hotels around their price range in Rome. A few of the reviews talk about the hotel area for us it was the perfect area and we felt safe walking around in the evening. About a 20 min walk to Colloseum and then 10/15 mins further on for other tourist areas. We got the leondardo express from the airport to Roma termini and the hotel is just a 3/4 min walk from there. The two men we dealt with at reception during our stay were great (sorry I don’t know their names) and very accommodating. The hotel has a terrace upstairs that you can get the keys for if you want to sit upstairs for a drink for a change of scenery when it’s warm out. For us in the UK the elevator in the hotel was daunting and we were apprehensive about using it but it worked perfectly and was safe, walking past other hotels in the area we seen they all have the same sort of elevator so must be common. Overall we had a great stay at Marco Polo, the room was beautiful and quiet. Thank you for a wonderful trip!

Quarto super agradável, bem amplo, tudo novo. Apenas as estruturas externas ao quarto (recepção e elevador) que precisam de atualizações. Mas realmente o quarto em si está em otima condição. A localização também é otima, muito próxima a estação Termini o que facilita de mais.

The location is prefect for who catching train around, only 5 minutes to central station. The room is spacious and clean, newly renovated with kitchennaid in the public area, and offered welcome cake everyday for clients. Specially the friendly and knowledgeable staff, detailed map out all attractions, make the journey much easier and pleasant.

Efter chocken över entrén och trapphuset hade lagt sig fanns det väldigt många fördelar: närheten till Termini; det låg precis runt hörnet från hotellet. Location was absolutely amazing, at just 4 minutes walking distance from the Termini, it was super convenient. The room itself was really beautiful, extremely clean and spacious enough. There was a Nespresso machine for the first coffee of the day which was nice to have. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and super clean. Unfortunately this is where the positive points are ending. The hotel seemed to have undergone renovations recently, and it's a shame it was not done properly. The rice paper thin walls were half the reason why we were not able to rest at all. You can hear everything happening in the corridor and in the adjacent rooms, from people doing their "number two", to people actually fu**ing, to the maintenance staff starting their disrespectful fanfare before 6 in the morning, this is definitely not a place you will be able to sleep even with the best earplugs out there. To add insult to injury, there was no air conditioning, or at least, it was a "centrally" controlled one which is impossible to get under 25 C in the room. We were lucky it was not as hot as it's usually in Roma at this time of year.Other than that there was one of those extremely low quality chinese fridge which was not working, leading us to loose some food. Also the drain in the shower was completely clogged, you cannot let the shower run for more than 1-2 minutes at a time otherwise it will overflow on the floor, you have to wait for the drain to swallow very slowly before restarting it.

The hotel room and location were excellent, very close to main metro, bus and train station so can easily visit everywhere. We did not try the food so cannot comment and did not see what the other rooms were like. I managed to get the family room which was the largest and recently refurbised. Be aware, the vacinity although great location is very dirty and lots of people trying to sell you things. We found a great restaurant not far away Santa Maria Osteria Romana all all staff are Italian, food was fantastic and very friendly.
