They’re watching you!!
This property is magnificent, let me say that. If you rent a vehicle, which I recommend, you have easy access to Rome and easy access to the roads out of town. Consider everything 30+ minutes away.
The kitchen is beautiful, everything here is beautiful.
Now for the tough part. If it is warm in Rome, it is 5-10° warmer in the sleeping quarters of this house. They have fans to use but one was broken when we arrived and another broke once we turned it off. The windows don’t provide any real cross-breeze so it stays scorching inside as the outside significantly cools off.
We had a little tussle with the property owners. We left to overnight in Florence. We left a light on upstairs which till the day we left I still couldn’t turn off. We left the fans on.
When we got back from overnighting in the Florence place we booked separately which had air conditioning, I asked if we could replace the broken fans. Evidently, the onsite landscaper had reported to the owners that we left the fans on and that we left “all the lights on, including those outdoors.” It’s a little weird being monitored on holiday, and I don’t know how he would know the fans were on - it’s not like they ever help with any cleaning or provide new towels during your stay. It seems they only enter the property to look at how you’re keeping the place up.
We had to replace the fans as recompense for the lights being on and the wasted energy of fan use.
