This property is in a lovely, quiet setting overlooking the Gulf of Maine, and we very much enjoyed sitting outside, watching the birds and the lobster boats make their rounds. We liked being able to bring our dog. However, the house itself has a number of problems:
Cleaning was not thorough - including dust and pet hair on upholstery, in the primary bedroom, spider webs, dead leaves on decks - not swept or cleaned at all - moldy shower tiles, and there is water damage/bubbling paint on one wall in the lower bathroom.
The owner's belongings are everywhere, and although the bathrooms and kitchen are renovated, the furniture feels like leftovers and doesn't provide comfortable seating for four people, particularly on the upper deck, which is the best feature. There isn't any seating at all for the lower deck which, again, was not swept and since it does not have furniture, was unusable. The path down to the water is overgrown with nowhere to sit to enjoy the view from there.
The kitchen has decent appliances - although the refrigerator ice maker and water dispenser are broken - and while there are a lot of drinking glasses, the kitchen drawers are disorganized with a random assortment of pots, bowls, etc. for cooking and serving.
The bedrooms face east and the curtains/blinds are thin, so we were woken up every morning by the sunrise. Beautiful, but would have been nice to sleep past 6 am.
There should be a way to store the garbage outside - living with a progressively smellier garbage for a week wasn't great, and the process of taking the garbage/recyclables to the Bristol dump should be handled by someone hired by Vacasa. Not an ideal way to end a vacation.
