“We absolutely loved our stay here. It was our overnight halfway thru the Shimanami Kaido and it was such a wonderful place to rest. The views and especially sunrise are without equal! We regret not being able to stay at least 2 nights. The villa is equipped with everything you need to make your own meals, do your own laundry, lounge wear etc. They even left us a few beers, orange juice, specialty jam and honey samples and enough food for our breakfast this morning. We will absolutely be back……

“My friend and I stayed for 1 night at Kominka Mitsuhama Ryokan in early November. We were very surprised by how much thought and effort was put into decorating this 100 year old house. It was truly an unforgettable experience staying there. Our host was like a cherry on top of the whole experience. Even though we could only communicate in broken Japanese, he prepared English instructions for us so communication was not a problem. When we checked out, he even gave us a handwritten note and two……

“Akita and Rei were great hosts. Their house was fully stocked with everything you need, especially the kitchen. The house was located at a quiet neighborhood. You could walk to the beach and fishing port. We met locals who were really nice to lend us fishing poles for our stay. You could feel the real Japanese daily life and hospitality during the stay. Highly recommended for travelers who love experiencing the Japanese culture.”
