"The photos do not do this property justice. Its a lovely large secluded house in the middle of sunflower fields. The owners live next door and were on hand for anything we might need, but we didn't see or hear them unless we needed to. They were the perfect hosts. It was a great location for our extended family getaway. The pool was perfect and provided good shade for the children. There is a sandpit and a wooden lookout that are not pictured, but were a lovely surprise. The house was spotlessly...

The house is lovely - the bedroom separated from the house is very hot and was a little dirty but that’s partly because of the bear stone. Communication was very good leading up to the stay - a couple of minor delays with responses when at the property but overall good. We would definitely go back "

Enclosed air-conditioned house near St Emilion with garden and private pool

10/10 Excellent

"We had a lovely stay in this property. The air conditioning was a godsend in the recent heatwave, and the pool was lovely to relax by and get into with the heat. Beds were really comfortable and plenty of space inside and out to eat and relax. Jean is a lovely host who leaves you in peace but is on hand to help with any questions. Our only regret is we weren’t able to visit all the lovely places he recommended. For some, the pool may be a little small but for us it was perfect. Jean was really upfront about minor issues in the property (mainly the grass area being bare due to a recent flood) which is always reassuring when your hosts are honest. The location may be a little isolated for some, as major towns a little further away but for us this wasn’t an issue. Overall thoroughly recommend this property, and definitely Jean as a host - he was very helpful when a flock of sheep and goats decided to pay us a visit in the garden!! "

"A very spacious property with everything well provided for. Excellent arrival instructions and prompt responses to pre arrival queries. It was a hot week and the pool was expecially welcome. There were plenty of places to sit in the garden in sun or shade.Shutters on all the upstairs windows would help keep the space cooler by keeping the sun out during the day, and allow easier sleeping.The area has lots to offer - we only scratched the surface!A very quiet and tranquil spot set within rolling countryside."

"Great property and great owner. Can't say enough good things about this house although to call it a farmhouse doesn't give the right impression about how modern and up-to-date the house is. All the "mod cons", and the plumbing and wifi worked. (seriously, that has not been our experience in other places in France). Modern kitchen. Pool was super and well maintained. The youngsters loved the playhouse. And the owner was terrific. Couldn't be more helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed the rural setting but McDonalds, supermarkets, and pizza were only 10 minutes away. Best of both worlds. Would definitely stay there again."

"We stayed at La Vieille Ferme at the end of June 2025. We were four couples and an infant - myself, my wife, our three children and spouses. We loved the setting, the area, the house and the facilities. Jo was an excellent host and made us very welcome without intruding. We would happily stay again!"
