Macqueville and the nearby villages are very quiet and we experienced the slightly unreliable hours of the village shop and restaurant. Booking there is essential. “This house is exceptional. The outside area is particularly lovely, the pool a dream. We had everything we needed, spending evenings cooking in the kitchen room which overlooks the garden and pool area was relaxing and eating outdoors equally pleasant. Communication with the host was probably the best we have experienced after many stays across Europe, she was more than helpful. “We had a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing fortnight. The gite is spacious, very clean and comfortable with everything you could need - a real home from home. Lovely pool which we used almost every day. Situated in a small hamlet but only a short drive to the nearest shops and plenty of places of interest a little further afield. Our hosts were next door so on hand to help if needed but never intrusive. Even though the weather was less than ideal at times, we had such a lovely holiday. Thank……

“Super belle ville de Saintes, maison confortable pour une famille de 4 (2 adultes, 2 enfants, 1 chien). Les propriétaires (claudine et Patrice) vivent dans la maison dans la même propriété. Ils sont très accueillants, de très bon conseil pour les activités à Saintes ou dans les alentours. Les enfants ont adoré en autre le port miniature de St Savinien, la visite de l'amphithéâtre à Saintes. Nous avons pu aussi visiter l'île d'Oléron (40 minutes de voiture environ).
