Was so pleasantly surprised by the room and friendly staff. This is really the only hotel in this tiny town and it was a “staycation” to come see a concert in the park. It’s been a very long time that hotel staff both mentioned and recognized my VIP Expedia status. The young man who checked us in was clearly trained well and provided GREAT customer service. We were given a bottle of wine as VIP member and the room we were given was great! Liked our stay and will be back. Not sure why the hotel has such a low star rating. I will warn you, the hotel restaurant and bar will close early or unannounced if they don’t have any business, so plan ahead for that. They might not be open as expected.

Our room had a great view of the river, and the park. It was so handy to have access to events in and around the riverfront, the park, shopping, and was walkable to everything in Independence. Such a cute town. The service was top notch and the amenities were wonderful - hot tub, room, access, parking. We loved it!

Front desk was very helpful! Fresh lemon/lime ice water and cookies was a nice treat after checking in. They were conveniently located near elevators on our way to the room. Grounds and river views are gorgeous and peaceful. Paved walking trail along the river proved to be a relaxing stroll after our evening meal.

Beautiful hotel. Everything was tastefully done, spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed having the restaurant on site with a choice for sitting outside with a view of the river or inside, also with a view. Their hot tub is by reservation only, so we were able to enjoy it by ourselves for a half hour. Have not had that option before and liked it a lot. The location worked well for our day trip to Monmouth the next day.

We love the design and vibe of this hotel. The rooms are great and everything is very clean. Location along the Willamette River is awesome! The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars overall is due to the change made to the breakfast which is included with your room. It used to be a full incredible breakfast...this stay it was next to nothing and I left hungry.

The hotel is beautiful inside and with the view outside. The room was spacious and lovely. We loved the eating area for breakfast. Had an awesome rooftop bar and hot tub although we didn’t get to use it. Highly recommend this hotel. We even rechecked a bottle of wine when we checked in.

Our family of 9 adults all stayed at the hotel for my grandaughter's wedding in Salem. Staff were extremely kind, helpful and friendly. The TV in our booked room didn't work, so the staff moved us to an upgraded room, king suite. We ended up having the reception at the hotel (not planned). The restaurant was fabulous for this. All our wedding activities ended up at the hotel because it was so nice. Wonderful!!! We will stay here every time we visit Salem.

The pictures promoted for the room showed the Willamette River. The room we were put in was the opposite side. That’s false advertisement. The AC in the room had to be manually changed in order for it to get colder. On a hot day, that seems a little ridiculous. Our overall stay was ok but if anyone is planning on going, make sure you ask what room you will be getting and another piece of advice, make sure you ask the staff to get your room temperature lowered before you get up there because it is locked to the general public.
