When we arrived, we realized that the toilet wasn’t working. We informed the staff immediately, but nothing was done until the next day, after we reported the issue for the third time. They then moved us to a worse room, with a smaller bed, located right in front of the pool, which was extremely noisy. The Wi-Fi did not work inside the room and was only available on the balcony. Breakfast was very basic, with only two options available: American or Dominican. The staff at the kiosk was very slow. If you need to book a taxi, make sure to double-check 20–30 minutes before departure, as in our case the taxi was never actually booked. Also, reception does not open until 9 a.m. But the hotel has a nice location and is clean , you have a suopermarket next door

Review for Costarena Hotel (Stay: November 9 -12, 2025) This was our second stay at Costarena Hotel. Our first visit was impressive—the property was quiet, affordable, and offered good value, which is why we decided to return. Unfortunately, our recent experience was disappointing and fell short of expectations. What went wrong: Room Condition B11: The floors creaked with every step, the room had a moldy smell, and the shower curtain and room curtains felt cheap. There was no hot water, so we had to shower in cold water. Wi-Fi: The connection on the third floor was nonexistent. I had to go down to the lobby just to get online. Bed & Cleanliness: The bed was extremely uncomfortable, feeling like exposed springs. I also woke up with multiple bug bites, which was unpleasant. Security: The room still uses an old-fashioned key system, which feels unsafe. Missing Item: My brand-new Bulova prescription glasses went missing from the room while we were out. This was very upsetting and unacceptable. Staff should be trained never to remove personal items unless they are clearly trash. Service: Reception staff spoke good English, but breakfast staff did not. My husband requested a Dominican breakfast and was served an American breakfast instead. We always tip housekeeping and appreciate their hard work, but losing a personal item and experiencing these issues makes it hard to trust the staff. Unless improvements are made—especially regarding security and cleanliness—we will not return.

🌴 Prime Location with Untapped Potential This beachfront property boasts an unbeatable location—just steps away from one of the most stunning beaches on the island. The views and proximity to the ocean are truly its greatest asset. Our Room was clean and comfortable. We also liked the balcony with the view. One Lady at the reception was really friendly and kind, the other people working in the hotel and restaurant were unfriendly. They are not speaking a single word in english and ignore you, if you do not speak spanish. The breakfast was really bad. Low quality piece of ham or salami and eggs. For the price of the hotel, the breakfast should be much better.

Service was great, friendly, and they answered any question I had as well as helped out with all of my requests, appreciate the help of the staff! Parking was easy, across the street where the restaurant is located which is also where the beach is located, fairly convenient. Less than a 10 minute walk from the town and restaurants, one block away from a market/convenience shop. Overall, great and easy stay for the price paid!
