It was probably nice at one time, but is now somewhat run down. Our oven did not work, the hall lights and outside lights did not work, no laundry facilities or cleaning (broom) supplies. Location wasgrwat
Great property, friendly management and very helpful. Great location and we enjoyed going for the day to Fredericksburg and also saw lots of wildlife. The boys enjoyed the horse back riding offered by the owners of our rental property. All around great stay and close to town if you just want to get out or need supplies.

Not as advertised
Although the property is quite pretty and convenient to town, the "cabins" are a bunch of trailers. The kitchen was not well equipped. One 3/4 measuring cup, no serving pieces, not even salt & pepper. The FREE continental breakfast that was promised never appeared (even after making a request). The owners said they would be available any time, yet I couldn't get in contact with them for over 12 hours. There were wires strewn across the ground from one cabin to another, and the paneling was ripped of of the exterior on one side. The master bed had a strange tilt and was quite uncomfortable. We were told not to flush toilet paper due to the fact that they were on septic. Really?? I understand not flushing sanitary products, but no toilet paper? Gross.
Came back to see the new animals and bring family members to see them all. Always something new to see and learn. Enjoyed it. Relaxing and fun. Kids loved it.

We truly enjoyed our stay here as we were escaping our home to let it get as many showings as possible with the sale. The country setting with the animals, quietness of the ranch and the friendliness of the owners were excellent! We had the unfortunate incident of picking up a nail in our truck tire while we were out in town. Mickey was amazing and helped us finish up the tire change as I have a heart condition that was giving me a bit of a fit with the heat and exertion of swapping things out. He is truly a great guy!! They checked in on me afterward and even brought us some local fruits and eggs from the farm for the next morning. While we didn't get to take advantage of the horseback riding or great cooking that was posted, we truly enjoyed our time here just the same and will be back in the future if our home doesn't sell quickly! Kudos to the owners for a beautiful spot!
If you want to unplug and get back to nature its a great option. If you want a girls weekend with facials and partying on the town, this isn't for you. Go back to Austin. We really enjoyed our stay and had everything thing we needed. I can echo the strange smell of the water, luckily it was only a few days so we wait until we got home. I found the property clean with all nessary paper products. This is truly the country and farm animals roam freely and yes, you might get dirty that's part of what mades this a great family getaway! The roaster really will wake you up but, you can get to attractions 1st thing in the morning.
Very disappointed Overall. This is NOT a private place. Lots of cabins and other guests. There was some stranger rummaging around the (surprise!) communal kitchen that I didn’t know was part of my rental late at night. Very uncomfortable. Left after 1 night. Have saved photos where I was told that my second night would be refunded but refund not given. A rare negative experience on vrbo.

Lovely country setting close to Boerne
We spent 3 days on the property and found it very enjoyable. The farmhouse has an interesting layout that may not be great for larger groups, but it accommodates our party of 3 just fine.
We were delighted to see several baby goats were born the day that we arrived. We loved spending time around the horses and goats. The ranch itself is beautiful and contains an elevation for a very pretty view.
Micky and Vicky were very hospitable and attentive. Vicky made a delicious chocolate cake for our daughters birthday.
The property is still a work in progress and we look forward to seeing it again in the future.

NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED
I rented a 2 bedroom, 1 bath 500 sq ft cabin however they overbooked and the day before arriving the owners called and said they would let us have a 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom micro kitchen (if you can even call it that) at no additional cost. The "kitchen" had no dish soap, no paper or dish towels to dry your hands, no trash bags and the only thing we had to cook on was a toaster oven and a hot plate. We ended up having to use their charcoal grill which we didn't bring any charcoal/lighter fluid so we had to get some from the owners. We had to throw all our toilet paper in the trash (which I thought was disgusting and unsanitary) and the water smelled like rotten eggs. The second day we had to go to Wal-Mart and I purchased dish soap, paper towels, kitchen towels, and oven mitts for the grill all of which I left for the next guest. None of this would have bothered me HOWEVER after being home for @6 hours I got an email from the owners telling me they were going to charge me a cleaning fee - which they still haven't told me how much- because we didn't read the 3 ring binder they left in our room that said we had to strip the sheets off the bed and put the 3 towels they provided in the dirty clothes basket as well as take the trash to the front of the property. The only reason we had a bag to put the trash in (which we collected it all and sat on the front porch) was because we brought it ourselves. The walls were paper thin and you could hear everything going on next door - no privacy. I'm disappointed and won't be going back.

Ideal clean cabin for my kids and I.
We had a very nice time in this cabin, Tom and Sussie my kids just loved the loft and watching Netflix, they also liked petting the animals, mainly the baby goats and riding Bella the minature horse.
As I was preparing to cook dinner I couldnt find a lighter however Walter and the Staff where always there to help me out.
Thank you so much for letting us stay in your ranch.

Just the right place to spend the weekend
The cabin was very clean and cozy.
We loved watching the animals (horses, goats, donkeys, deer, etc) walking through the ranch, we were able to set our tent outside our cabin and our children slept there, we all had a wonderful time.
Looking forward to our next visit.
We highly recommend this cabin and in general this amazing ranch.

A great cabin for a glamping family weekend!
We had a great time at the little cabin. It's not fancy, but it has everything you need. Expectations should be set with the concept of "glamping" with all the amenities. The bed in the bedroom is lovely, comfortable, cozy. The A/C works great during hot Texas summer days. The water is hot for a nice shower (no bathtub, but we managed). Kitchen and dining room worked well for cooking simple meals. The upstairs loft has very low ceilings. Adults must crawl. But it worked well for our three kids 5 and under to bunk and play up there in their own space. The stairs are very narrow and steep. But we had no trouble.
Micky and his staff were very nice. We paid extra to have the kids ride Bella the miniature horse, and they loved it! We also got to feed the goats.
Boerne is a lovely little town. We had fun hiking, eating, hitting some breweries, etc. Overall, a really great trip for us. Thanks so much!

Serene Hill Country Cabin
My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Home Away from Home Ranch. The cabin was clean and looked just like the pictures. Mickey and his brother were very attentive and very nice hosts. We enjoyed the peaceful hill country scenery, rode Zeus the horse and the pony, and watched movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime. It was truly a great weekend. We will be going back very soon!!! Thank you to everyone at the Home Away from Home Ranch!!

Pleasant facility
We enjoyed our stay. Our trip was to spend time with my Father , so, we only showered & slept in the cabin. Our daughter REALLY missed not having "TV" . I am technically challenged so didn't know how to make the sets on cabin function.

A great getaway
My wife and I had a great time in our little cabin. We took our 19 month old son and he had a great time seeing the goats and donkeys on the property. We had an incredible brunch that the owners cooked for us. I love places like this where you're helping support a small, family run business instead of staying at a large hotel. They were friendly and helpful the entire trip and are even shipping us a warm hat that we left behind. We'll stay again the next time we're in the area!

Very restful stay
The cabin is a good basic place to stay. It is compact but comfortable. No frills but very peaceful. There are other cabins close by but all residents were very quiet. The cooking equipment was sparse; however, the hosts will provide any extra items you request. There is a downstairs bedroom and a sleeping loft. The ranch has longhorns, horses, goats and an adorable donkey. The goats roam freely and are very entertaining. It was great to have an early morning cup of coffee on the porch and watch the goats and donkey mill about. The hosts are very attentive and communicate with you as needed. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area. I recommend it for a couple or a family with one or two children. The nearby town of Boerne is lovely and has good shopping and dining. Boerne is also close to north San Antonio and the commute is quick.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED
I planned a holiday weekend for my best girlfriend to get away as she is her mom's caregiver. We arrived to find that the entire place was completely mis-represented on the website and by the Owners in conversation. It was dirty, unmade, water smelled horrible. We had to go buy toilet paper, soap, papers towels and request two towels for the bathroom. There were no fresh linens or dish towels. The furnishings were not at all as in the photos and the cabins are not secluded at all. I could throw a rock and hit at least three others. Stray dogs roamed around and they left a car parked right in front of our porch for the night. The beds were not made up. I made a two page list of the discrepancies. We stayed less than 18 hours and packed up and called the Owners over to talk. Micky agreed to refund our total charge and later that day Vicky wrote me a text apologizing profusely for the condition of the cabin and that she expected her prior guests to clean it to perfection. That told me that no one goes through and cleans anything or washes the linens (a health hazard in my opinion) Vicky agreed, in writing to me to refund all but one night’s stay and to date that has become a lie. I had to dispute it with my credit card company. All in all my weekend was ruined. They are not at all experienced in the hotel or B & B business. This cabin was a deer hunters camp with A/C and bring all your own provisions.

Peaceful retreat in the Hill Country
We stayed in this cabin for 9'days while house hunting in San Antonio. It was a comfortable, restful place to come back to after a day of driving city streets. This was also our vacation, so we enjoyed the walks on the ranch with our dog, time sitting on the deck, and easy access to the rest of the Hill Country. The hosts are wonderfully welcoming and accomodating. Imneed to eat a special diet, so it was great to have a full kitchen for cooking meals.

Comfy cabin with amazing hosts!
The cabin is clean, comfortable, and quiet, and the hosts are fantastic!
We traveled with our 12 year old son for a family vacation. The location was excellent, providing 5 minute access to downtown Boerne, and 20 minute access to San Antonio. The cabin is very clean and cozy, and offers all the essential appliances. The 30 acre property makes for a very quiet spot. But the highlight of our visit was the warmth and friendliness of the hosts, and the opportunity to share our passion for cooking! During our visit, the hosts coordinated a dinner gathering with some friends of ours who live nearby, and the meal and the service were off the charts! Every detail was perfectly prepared, and the scenic hill country patio made for an unbeatable evening.

Wonderful Place!
What a great little hideaway and you could not ask for better hosts, the kitchen is as nice as any apartment and the owners provided anything we needed: from wine glasses to the best movies the owners served as our entertainment guys turning us on to everything there is to enjoy, not only all the fun stuff on the ranch but also around the hill-country we had all the privacy we wanted yet all the advantages of feeling like we were home. It felt like we were a million miles away when we were there but so close to everything fun, great location.
Do not pass up the brunches and dinners, they cost a bit extra but the owners are great chefs so it's the best deal in town, horseback riding was fun and the kids love the pony rides building a fire then making smores in the fire-pit was fun too.
In spite of all the rain we had a great time and want to come back soon for my birthday.
