  • Experience your ideal San Diego vacation while living luxuriously on Mission Beach! This gorgeous, second-story, beach-front condominium, located in the historic Surf Rider building, provides every modern convenience. Enjoy your private getaway with an unobstructed view of the ocean either from inside the unit or from your own private balcony. You may even be fortunate enough to see the dolphins surfing the waves! When you can no longer fight the urge for surf and sun, the beach is literally steps away. If you feel adventurous and want more than a swim, a sunbathe or a volleyball game, then quickly jaunt around the corner to rent surfboards, jet skis, boats and other recreational equipment or some lessons if you're an ocean sport novice!

    After your leisurely days at the beach, you may want to hop into the jacuzzi or cook out on one of the two gas BBQ grills on the shared patio. Or, if you feel like holing up in the comfort of your home away from home, cook yourself a gourmet meal in the beautiful, fully functional kitchen and enjoy it while watching the breathtaking sunset. Afterward, you may wish to curl up and watch TV either in the living room or snuggled up in either bedroom.

    If you are interested in seeing more of San Diego than just Mission Beach (although the people watching could entertain you indefinitely), then your Surf Rider condo places you in the heart of all San Diego has to offer. Belmont Park, the San Diego Zoo, Pacific Beach, Coronado, La Jolla, the USS Midway, the Gaslamp District, Sea World, Torrey Pines Golf Course, the Del Mar Racetrack and La Jolla Cove are all quickly and easily accessible to you, as well as numerous restaurants. After each of your long eventful days, the travertine bathrooms welcome you to wash the sea salt away before nestling into one of the cozy beds (a king in the master, queen in the second bedroom, or a full-size convertible bed in the living room) in order to regain your strength for your next amazing California adventure!

We had a wonderful time at the Surf Rider as its location and amenities cannot be beat! The place was as described, and although the fridge wasn’t cooling the first day, the manager was quick to respond and resolve. There is now a new fridge in the unit so future renters have nothing to worry! We stayed mid summer and the weather was warm, so we used the fans in each room to help circulate the air at night. There’s beach chairs and sand toys and plush towels, too!

The room was clean and had everything we needed for our stay, including plenty of toiletries. We were also very pleased with the television options! All the platforms we needed were available--Peacock, CW, Prime, and Direct TV. The only thing we couldn't find was local news at night, but maybe we didn't look in the right place. We also enjoyed the outdoor hot tub in the evenings!

We loved being able to sit right in front of the boardwalk to people watch and enjoy the ocean views. It’s a short walk north or south to eat at great restaurants. Would highly recommend!

Everything was clean, and the beach views were exceptional. There are also numerous restaurants within walking distance, which was very convenient. The only drawback was that the pull-out bed is quite small and not suitable for an adult. Additionally, the hot tub contained a noticeable amount of sand.

The condo was absolutely lovely and provided us with everything we needed for the week we were in San Diego! We enjoyed first-class ocean and boardwalk views while sipping our morning coffee, and the evening sunsets were magical. We had a little miscommunication regarding the check-in process, but it was immediately addressed. Top Notch all the way around!

The hosts communication was excellent! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen looked great (we did not use it) and the location is unbeatable. You do share a patio with the condo in front, so if they are there your view of the ocean is to the side or through the other tenants. It is shown in the pictures, but something to note if you want your own patio. There are great chairs and lounge chairs down by the hot tub that we sat in and loved the vibe. The hot tub was hot and not crowded during our stay. The property has beach chairs, boogie boards and beach towels if you go down to the beach. No need to bring anything! The property was exactly what we were looking for and the managers were a pleasure to work with.
