Great location that’s right on the beach and within a short distance of all the popular places around San Diego. Just one thing to make note of, especially if you’re coming with young kids: the condo/neighbor is directly in the crosshairs of departing airport traffic so hearing rumbling jets every couple of minutes should be expected. The good news is that it typically quiets down at night and you get used to it pretty quickly. Outside of this, I highly recommend this place for anyone interested in visiting San Diego!

Location was perfect. Home was spacious and perfect size for 2 couples and a small pet. There is a grassy area at the south end of the beach (a short walk is involved) to take your fur baby to for potty breaks. The home has a 180 degree view of ocean with beautiful sunsets. Located in front of the volleyball courts at the quieter end of South Mission Beach. Parking garage is suitable for small to mid-size cars which would be helpful to have noted in the property description.Home could use a major cleaning with updates to some of the furniture and linens and rug in living room which was badly stained. Mattress in master suite needs to be replaced as it was badly stained which we discovered the day we checked out after removing the bedding. Would happily stay again once items noted above have been addressed.

We enjoyed our week at this property. Some appliances need replacing-the dishwasher does not clean the dishes and the oven temp only show partially, making it a difficult guessing game. Beds are very comfortable. Maurice was very helpful and communication was awesome.

We love the views and location of this apartment. It is exactly in front of Pacific Surf School's children's program and we love watching all the volleyball from the high deck. It is less noisy since it is farther from Belmont Park but an easy bike or walk to Belmont as well as our favorite coffee shop, the Blue Palm. We have stayed in this apartment twice.

I don’t think there’s a better location on Mission Beach than this house. Watching all the volleyball action right outside the window was incredibly entertaining. We would return.

The property location was perfect for us but the unit needs some TLC. Many items in the unit were broken including lamps, front windows, oven display, fans and the floor was filthy. Many pots and pans need to be disposed of as they are no longer safe for cooking. We did not receive check-in instructions until 4:45. It would also be very convenient if collapsible luggage stands, like you find in hotels, were in each bedroom.The bedroom with the second balcony has a glass door with no privacy or light shade so we placed a sheet there. Photos below.

Graduation weekend

Great location in MB and wonderful space, good communication, comfortable beds, 2 spaces for medium car parking a big plus. .House was surface level clean but I would suggest a good spring cleaning. Kitchen cabinets and drawers, windows, baseboards, etc were dirty, dusty and grimy. Appliances worked but oven was tricky to figure out because display is not functioning. All in all very good stay-thank you.

Fun in the Sun Penthouse

Wonderful location and a very comfortable place. Garage was deep enough for two cars which was nice when we had guests. We didn't cook while we were there, but kitchen was well-appointed (except no chip clips :-) ). Bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice. Recommend some maintenance on the windows in the back bedroom (2 queen room), as only one window was able to open.

Pleasant unit in great location

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay at this penthouse condo. It’s fun watching people use the sports court on the beach and surfing in the distance, and it’s an easy 10min walk to Belmont, 5min walk to some good coffee and breakfast spots, and 15 to 20min walk to many other restaurants and activities.Note that you should plan to bring or buy your own sand/beach supplies (e.g. chairs, umbrellas, etc). Also note that unit doesn’t have AC, but during our stay we were able to be comfortable with ocean breezes and strategic opening of windows/doors.Remainder of amenities were useful: sugar/salt/pepper, pots and pans, coffee filters, etc. Had what we needed, and getting anything else we wanted was easy. Glad we chose this spot!

Great vacation!

We loved staying here! It’s in the area we like and the property had everything we needed: garage space, balcony to watch sunsets, open floor plan with spectacular views! Maurice responded right away and was very easy to communicate with. We cannot wait to rent this place again. Thank you!

Amazing Sunset Views & Location

Property was in the perfect location! Far enough away from the crowds, but close enough to walk/ride bikes to restaurants, Belmont Park, etc. Amazing sunsets and bonfires on the beach, right in front of the condo. Check in was easy and Maurice/Property Manager was very responsive to some minor issues. We had an awesome vacation and will be back!

Our week at this property was amazing. The location was totally perfect - directly on the beach exactly where the girls' surfing lessons were based through Pacific Surf School via Duchess Ride out of Colorado. The kids could run back to use the bathroom! If you like volleyball this is also a great spot with 20+ courts right in front of you. The spot is 5min walk from coffee/Blue Palm restaurant and a market and a 8-10min walk from the Bellmont Park area via a lovely stroll along the beach bike path. The apartment is aligned such that the sun rises in the back so it is not so bright first thing and then sets directly in front giving the apartment's top floor deck and living space prime viewing. This apartment also faces the broader beach probably better than the other side of this apartment complex. The kitchen had everything we needed. We also appreciated all the paper products, kitchen and laundry soaps, and the closet did include a few beach towels though the description said they were not included. There was also hand soap, bath soap and shampoo but no conditioner. Super easy to get in and out with the door code. The parking spot was convenient but would be tight for two cars. Great for one small car (due to the very narrow entry) and storage. The only things I would have loved to have at the site were cruiser bikes and boggie boards. Apartments that other friends rented included those items. Overall it was wonderful and we would stay there again.

We loved our stay! The location was great! Right on the beach, volleyball courts and basketball courts nearby. Quieter environment which we loved. Maurice was great at responding to any questions or concerns we had. Will stay again!

Great stay on the beach

Our stay at Fun in the Sun Penthouse was awesome! The location and view cannot be beat. The property manager was very responsive and replied to emails almost immediately. The house was clean, and had everything we needed to prepare meals. The only suggestion I would give would be to have a few beach chairs for use. We flew in from Seattle, so we couldn't bring anything like that with us. Other than that, it was perfect!
