The home features 2 private bedrooms, king size sleeper sofa in the living room, 3 bathrooms, and very comfortably accommodates 6 people. All of the beds feature memory foam mattresses with an additional memory foam topper so each guest can choose between a softer, or firmer mattress experience. Both bedrooms offer guests the flexibility to choose bed configurations of either two twin extra long (XL), or combined for a single king size bed.
My full time property caretaker Ernesto generally works from 7am to 3pm Mon-Fri, however he occasionally works weekends depending on weather conditions or necessary changes to his schedule. Ernesto does everything from lawn care to pool cleaning and general maintenance. He is there to help, so if you encounter any problems with the property during your stay - please do not hesitate to ask Ernesto for assistance. He can also assist you with harvesting any fruit you see on the property. He can guide you as to which fruits are ready to eat, and how to prepare them if necessary. Guests are welcome to any of the fruits you see available on the property during your stay.
The property is eco-friendly with over 1,200 trees planted, and guests have the ability to pick their own seasonal fruits on site. The home is powered by solar energy, providing the bulk of our electricity, as well as a solar hot water heater with on-demand electric backup. We even produce our own bio-gas from food waste and a composting toilet, making this property beyond environmentally conscious. The house also features a state-of-the-art water filtration system for a limitless supply of clean drinkable water.
The property is located in the Mopan River valley just 3 miles outside the town of Bullet Tree Falls, and only 15 minutes from the twin towns of San Ignocio / Santa Elena. Just minutes away from the ancient Mayan temples of Xunantunich, El Pilar, and Cahal Pech. This river valley is also home to many native species of animal and plant life - a bird enthusiasts paradise!
Home amenities include air conditioning, high speed Wi-Fi Internet, a BBQ grill, a full kitchen, indoor or outdoor dining for 6 people, smart TV's with Netflix, Disney+, and many other Roko TV channel offerings. Guests can enjoy stunning views of the Mopan River and Paslow Falls from their private deck and observe abundant wildlife from iguanas to howler monkeys. The house features hardwood floors and ceilings, and wood furnishings made from natively grown and renewable tropical hardwoods. The house is adorned with locally sourced art work, and wood carvings which add to the unique charm of this property. Guests can also enjoy a 65-foot water slide, and plunge into your own private swimming pool.
* Please note: The second bedroom is located downstairs, and is its own private suite with separate outside entrance. Families with small children may prefer to have the kids sleep on the king sofa sleeper upstairs so they can be closer to their parents.
