Second time staying there even though there were issues the first time. As soon as I arrived the owner got an attitude with me for giving a 6 out of 10 review on my first visit . I explained about not having a proper working shower. He gave me a different room and said I won’t have a problem with getting a hot shower, wrong, never got to take a hot shower as there was never hot water. By the third day complaining about it the owner said he had someone coming to look at it, that was a lie because nobody came, the owner kept trying to fix the problem himself. Had to use dirty bath towels twice and again our bed sheets were never changed, this isn’t the maids fault, it’s the owner trying to save money. Pool had no chlorine in it and crap floating in the water. I spent 3 days with the owner while he tried to get the hot water working. All he could say is I’ve been trying and it’s Nicaragua, has nothing to do with the country because everywhere else I’ve stayed there had hot water. The owner needs to fix his crap or advertise no hot water. I would give it a 0 out of 10 if I could, he won’t ever get any of my money again!!!! Ahorra tu dinero y encuentra un lugar diferente para quedarte porque este hotel no vale 10 dólares por noche, sin agua caliente y sábanas sucias. El propietario miente y culpa de todos los problemas al país de Nicaragua, ¡pero en todos los demás lugares en los que me he alojado en Nicaragua había agua caliente y ropa de cama limpia todos los días!

We loved our stay here. Host Carolyn was wonderful and helpful. Room was spacious and bed was comfy. Great location with lots of dining options close by. We recommend staying here.

En general todo estuvo bien. Como punto a mejorar, el desayuno no se ofrece dentro del hotel sino en otro local, y el tiempo de espera fue bastante largo.

The owners are very very nice people but I had to give a 3 star because of several reasons. The shower was either full hot or full cold, never could get it to work properly. Maid service did a good job when the room was cleaned but only changed the sheets once in our week stay, that’s not acceptable anywhere. Having a gated property is nice but it’s not nice when you have to open and close the gates yourself if you’re planning on driving around town.

This is a very convenient place to stay for dining and the beach! Our room at the end of the building closest to the beach has an unbelievable view that we loved! The downside of the view is that the music from town can be very intrusive. Just bring earplugs and enjoy! The description of the hotel says they have a bar and breakfast. There is no bar and the breakfast is offsite. It’s only a block or so away so not too much of a hardship but you won’t be having breakfast in bed. We had to change our reservation by a day and while I had difficulty with Hotels.com, this property worked with us which was GREATLY appreciated! Really lovely and convenient place to stay!

Great stay, would recommend.

The place was very clean, it had great A/C, hot water, a very powerful fridge and the staff was very friendly. The main complaint I had is that there are birds that attack the window starting around 5 am, which makes it hard to sleep as it's very disturbing and it would be great if they had an iron on premise. I would definitely stay at the Black Pearl Inn again.
